Chapter 27

"You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."

The stormtrooper moved towards the prisoner.

Believe it or not, this was the second prisoner in the last two days that JB-007 was set to guard, and he was tired of Rebels taking his free time away from him. The last Rebel had escaped, and it was his head this time if she escaped.

He paused in front of Rey. "What did you say?" He asked.

Rey continued to dig into his head, like she had with Kylo Ren. "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open," She said, eyes trained on his eye area and concentration and focus visible.

Rey's nerves got the best of her, as the concentration was not enough to get through to him.

"I'll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum!" He refused.

Rey didn't stop. She calmed her mind and dove deeper. "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."

Her voice was completely neutral as it echoed through the trooper's head. "I will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."

Rey felt the restraints on her hands and feet be released, but she stood still just for safety. When she was confident her trick had worked, she ordered one last thing of him. "And you will drop your weapon!"

"And I'll drop my weapon."

A clunk echoed through the holding cell. Rey turned and saw his blaster laying on the ground in front of an open door.

Quietly, she grabbed it and left the cell.

When he returned, Kylo Ren was - displeased, to see what happened.

Finn, Padme, Han, Leia, Poe, C-3PO, a few Generals, and many other pilots sat in the conference room.

"The scan data from Snap's reconnaissance flight confirms Finn's report," Poe informed the group.

Padme sat in the back, still angry that they couldn't find her father.

Snap Wexley, a blue squadron pilot, was next to speak. "They've somehow created a hyper lightspeed weapon built within the planet itself."

"A laser cannon?" Major Brance asked.

Snap answered his question. "We're not sure how to describe a weapon of this scale."

"It's another Death Star," Major Emmat blurted, fear struck.

"I wish that were the case, Major," Poe hit one fo the buttons on the hologram. A frame of the Death Star showed up on the table. "This was the Death Star," He then pressed another control and the Death Star immediately shrunk, a huge planet forming next to it. "This is Starkiller Base."

Padme stepped forward in awe. It must have been five times bigger than the Death Star, which only meant one thing; it was five times more destructive. They had already seen it operate when they were on Takodana.

"So it's big," Han suggested, one of the few people in this room to have seen both Death Stars.

"How is it possible to power a weapon of this size?" Admiral Ackbar made his presence known by asking a question that was in everyone's mind.

"It uses the power of the sun. As the weapon is charged, the sun is drained until it disappears," Poe said. Padme exhaled heavily. This thing was powered by the sun, not a reactor. It was going to take a lot more to destroy this thing than it did the Death Star.
