Chapter Thirty: Vince Tyler Teroi
As she turned her back at me while fighting her sobs to escape once more, I felt like I'm dying. My heart is clenching so bad that I can't help but tapped my chest to calm down.
Hang on, buddy. We need to heal, endure. It's for her best, endure.
I released my ragged breathing as I lean on the railing. She's gone...
It's painful. I must be used to this feeling.
"That's..."
I raised my head and saw Harold walking fast at me. His jaw is clenching as well as his fists.
He's mad.
I am too. I'm mad of myself because I need to do this. I need to hurt her...if only I could be with her until we're frail and grey, if only I'm well, if only I'm selfish.
Because I know how she loves. If I tell her the truth, there will be no doubt she'll be with me next week and be in every way until my operation. She'll stay with me even if there's a big chance I can't make it alive, she will still stay...even if I'm gone.
I don't want that. If the only way to make her happy in the future is to be hurt in this time and loathe me with the plans in my head. I accept it. I will accept all her hatred.
She deserves better. Someone who's not sick, someone who's well that would stay with her until she's old, someone who won't let her in grief, someone who's not me...someone better.
"Do it." I demanded as he stopped in front of him.
Harold is the guy who's patience is too long, and to witness him mad is a rare occurrence.
I stood upright and face him. I nodded at him, "Do it, Harold. Hit me. I won't take this on you."
I tried to smile but it faded as soon as her face flashed in my mind.
I hope she'll forget me fast. I hope she'll mourn for our dead relationship short.
"You know you deserve this." In gritted teeth he said.
I nodded and waited for the punch.
And he did.
I slumped on the stairs and grimace in pain. He could punch, huh.
"I won't apologize, Ty. What you did to her is very cruel." He shook his head in dismay as he pulled me up.
"Contact Aki. She blocked me after I told her about the plan." I moved my jaw and winced in pain.
Dang, that was strong.
Harold massaged his temples as he leaned on the railing and took his phone out. "You're really going to do this? You really want her to hate you, huh?" He said as he browse his contacts and dialled Aki's number.
I leaned on the railing too and looked at the chandelier. Her tears are like these crystals...too expensive to be waste. Yet she's wasting it on me.
"Don't end it, please."
I looked at Harold who's holding his phone on his ear. He is looking at me as he talk with Aki.
He grimaced and hold his phone away from his ear. I bet Aki screamed again.
She hate us calling her. Her reason is her classmates assumed she has a boyfriend and won't believe even if she puke in front of their faces.
"Calm down well you? We owe you this one. He really needs your help, Aquila."
I sighed and walked up the stairs. Harold could handle it. He always handle Aquila's temper...so well.
I took my phone as I went on the balcony. I dialled Tita Cassandra's number. I took a lungful of air as I waited for her to pick up. I know it's late, they're probably sleeping and Angelie won't bother anyone when she's crying. She'll probably jailed herself in her room.
