"So what do you want me to order for you?" Jimin calls from inside the bedroom.
"Just the aloo gobi with naan" I respond standing in front of the sink, washing my face.
"You don't want the chana masala too?"
"Anyo, namu manhi eumsig" I answer.
Just then Jimin bursts out laughing.
I turn off the water, grab a towel to dry my face, and walk back into the room.
"What happened?"
"Aww Jen, your pronunciation is off."
I pout and lower my head in embarrassment.
"Did I say something dumb?"
"It's 'neomu' not 'namu.' You said lots of tree food but I know you meant too much food."
I laugh understanding my mistake. "Those two words used to confuse me all the time when I was barely learning! I guess I need to brush up more of my vocab."
"Gwenchana gongjunim, I'll help."
"Right now you can help by finishing ordering breakfast- brunch? lunch? Whatever you would call the first meal of the day at 2pm."
"Don't worry, I just ordered. Food should be here in 25 minutes."
"Yessss! I can't wait."
It had been an emotionally exhausting night and morning.
We both slept through the first half of the day and had woken up a half hour ago.
Neither of us wanted to get out of bed, but we had a full day of studying for finals ahead of us. More than anything, our tummies were growling and desperately begging us for food.
We were ordering take out as neither of us had energy to actually cook.
I walk over and lay besides Jimin on the mattress.
I snuggle closer to him and breathe in his heavenly aroma.
"Sooo how are you feeling?" he asks.
"Sleepy. I know we just woke up but I could use a nap."
He laughs. "Honestly, me too. But I'm asking more about last night. How are you feeling emotionally? Mentally? Physically? Spiritually? Every form possible."
"I'm actually.. great. I meant it last night when I said that I am at peace with the whole experience. I never knew exactly how I would react but you.. You really made it special and comfortable for me. I feel weird saying thank you but just know that I appreciate you. So much."
He beams at me before scooting closer. "That makes me really happy."
"Let me turn the tables on you now, how do you feel about everything?" I ask.
"Hmmm..I'm beyond happy. I was just as nervous as you were. I don't want you thinking that I knew we were going to be intimate last night or that I planned for it to ever happen. But I had thought about it, hypothetically, and I was nervous about treating you the right way. When I woke up last night and saw you crying I just- my heart felt so heavy and the guilt was crushing me because I thought I had gone too far or that you had bad memories because of something I did. But thankfully it was none of that. Plus, I was nervous because I felt pressure to make your first time magical and romantic. I didn't want to uh..finish quickly and have you be all 'that was it? wow what a waste of time!' and then just friend zone me after."
I can't help laughing hysterically at his honesty.
"Jen it's not funny!" he exclaims.
"I would never do that to you, amor. Like I said before: sex isn't everything! I'm here because of your sense of humor, your kind heart, your optimism, your intelligence, and that beautiful smile! But.. after what I saw and felt last night, you have nothing to worry about."
My cheeks redden at my confession.
Jimin looks down and smiles shyly. "Good to know."
Just then we hear a knock on the door.
"Must be the food!" he smiles. "I'll go get it."
As he walks away he asks "Do you have any cash to tip the driver?"
"Yeah I think I have a few dollars."
I reach over for my wallet and grab some bills.
Since I was only wearing Jimin's shirt, I threw on shorts so I could cover up a bit more.
"Hey Jen?" he calls from the door.
"Sí, be right there." I yell.
I walk towards the door and am surprised that I do not see him holding any bags.
"Did they forget something, amor?" I call once I am a few feet behind him.
I reach the front door a second later and freeze momentarily when I see the figure standing at the entrance.
This was not our food delivery.
Instead, Adam stood in the doorway holding a medium sized box.
I blink a few times, trying to convince myself that this was actually happening.
He glares at Jimin for what seems like an eternity before shifting his eyes towards me and examining my clothing, or should I say, acknowledging Jimin's shirt on my body.
"Uh Adam? Why are you- what are you doing here?" I manage.
"I had some of your shit and sweaters at my place." he states coldly and shoves the box at me.
"Oh umm thanks."
"Yeah. But it looks like you don't even need it, considering he's letting you borrow his clothes."
I bite my tongue, failing to control the smile spreading across my face.
"Is that all you needed?" I respond, ignoring his comment.
"Let me have the beanie I left here last time."
I turn, ready to walk back into the bedroom, but Jimin stops me.
"I'll go gongjunim."
He walks away and leaves the two of us standing there in tension filled silence.
"A-more (amor) huh? You want to tell me again how both of you weren't fucking this whole time?" he spits out.
I let out a small chuckle, realizing he heard me call Jimin by his nickname.
"I never lied to you. I never slept with him when we were together. BUT, now that I'm single. Well that's a whole other story," I answer coyly.
"You're such a c*nt," he retorts.
Before I can respond, Jimin reappears behind me. He gathers my hair and parts it to one side, exposing my neck. He leans in and plants a peck on my skin, directly on one of the love marks he left last night.
He then hands Adam the beanie.
In an overly friendly voice, Jimin adds, "Thanks man, it was great seeing you. Take care yeah?"
"Fuck you!" Adam blurts out before storming off.
I close the door and burst out laughing.
Jimin grabs the box from my hands, dropping it on the floor.
"Oppa! You are so bold. I got goosebumps when you kissed my neck!"
He looks at me with a massive grin plastered on his lips.
Without responding he pulls me into a hug and spins me around a few times. He squeezes me tightly before pressing his forehead against mine.
"You don't know how happy it makes me knowing I'm the only one who kisses you."
