My mouth forms into an o and I chuckle awkwardly.
"Oh my goodness! Yes. Okay. I can see why you are confused right now. This is actually Jimin's apartment. I'm just..umm. You know what? Why don't you come in. He had a bit of a late night so he's sleeping in. Please come in and I'll go check and see if he's up."
She raises her eyebrows with each word but finally gives me a small smile and nods.
We walk inside and she takes a seat on the couch.
"Would you like a glass of water or tea?" I ask.
"No thank you," she replies, observing me with curiosity.
"Uhh okay just make yourself comfortable. I'm going to go check on Jimin."
As if the universe was not working in my favor, I feel incredibly timid when I say this out loud and a crimson shade spreads across my face.
Before I completely turn as red as a watermelon slice, I excuse myself and walk away.
I quickly peek inside the bedroom and breath more easily when I don't see Jimin still passed out on the mattress.
The sound of water running gives me even more hope.
I gently knock on the door.
The water stops and after a few more moments Jimin appears in front of me.
He flashes me a heart melting smile and runs a hand through his hair.
"Jongjunim, I was wondering where you were."
HOT DAMN. He looks so damn fine with a freshly cleansed face.
For a brief second, I forget about my intended task and all I can think about is running my fingers through his hair as he sits beneath me and I bounce on his.....
My face turns an even brighter pink and I shake away those unholy thoughts.
"Yeah I'm here. I went to do some of your laundry because it was piling up. And uhhh funny story. Did you remember that you were supposed to meet your sister today?"
His mouth drops open and he stares at me wide eyed, a deer caught in the headlights.
"Holy sh!t" he runs to the bedside and picks up his charging phone.
"Damn it. I completely forgot! She's gonna be so pissed! Look, she's called me fifteen times and sent eleven texts. My phone died last night and I barely plugged it in."
"Well good-ish news. She's actually outside. In the living room. Right now."
"What seriously?"
"Yeah I let her in. I hope it's okay. She was kinda lost in the hallway and I talked to her and she actually thought she had the wrong apartment because I walked out of it-"
I pause my rambling.
"Actually just go out there and talk to her. It sounded important."
"Right" he says and gives me a quick peck before stepping outside.
I sit on the bed and take a few deep breaths, the heat rushing to my face once again.
I hear excited voices and Jimin's nervous laughter as he explains himself.
They converse mostly in Korean with a few English phrases sprinkled throughout.
Their speech is much too distant and too fast for me to make out.
I retreat into the restroom and splash cold water on my face in hopes that it calms my nerves.
As I pat my face dry, I hear Jimin's voice behind me.
