I clear my throat nervously.

"It's not that easy, I have these major doubts and-"

"Unni please tell him," she repeats, her tone much more desperate this time.

Sunhi continues "You might have been away from my brother for a year, but I have been here the whole time. Something tells me that he still loves and cares about you deeply."

"How are you so sure?" my voice comes out incredibly soft.

"Let me tell you about his birthday. Eommani was making him a nice meal the Saturday after his birthday so he spent the weekend at our house. Of course Taehyung dragged him out that Friday night and they celebrated. I was at home peacefully asleep when Jimin called me at 3am asking if I could pick him up. I was annoyed but also worried so I said yes. I get to the spot and Jimin and Taehyung are wobbling around with a group of other people, singing to the music in their heads. This is the most drunk I have ever seen my brother. He couldn't even get into the car by himself!"

I bite back a smile imagining how adorably messy he was.

"We are driving home and this song came on the radio. I think it might have been "손이가" by Got7. Anyway, he had been falling asleep but then his head shot up when the song started. I look at him and he has this GIANT, drunk grin plastered on his face. Then he says 'This is one of Jen's favorite songs. She always sang it in the shower.' Now, that was the first time he ever talked to me about you so I was really surprised. I didn't know how to respond so I just let him talk. He went on saying how your voice was 'beautifully out of tune' and that you had dedicated that song to him."

The words tug at my heart and all I can say is "Yeah that's true.."

She looks at me kindly. "Before I could react I looked over again and he was out. Once we got home I took him straight to the restroom because he was feeling nauseous. Maybe like twenty minutes had passed and I go check in on him. I open the door and he's literally curled up on the floor asleep. I tried waking him up and I shook his shoulder. He started moving and then he said something like 'Hmm Jen?' while he was half asleep. I can't remember exactly but I know for a fact he said your name. He was so drunk that he doesn't remember telling me about you but he was definitely thinking about you that night."

I run my hand through my hair and gather my thoughts.

"Okay Sunhi that's cute and everything but that was like seven months ago. That's plenty of time to move on."

She interjects eagerly. "I thought that too..especially because he never mentioned you when he was sober. But then! Fast forward to late March or early April of this year. It was a random weekday, maybe like a Tuesday night. It was about 10pm and I was watching a drama in the living room and my parents were asleep. Jimin randomly texted me if I was awake. I told him I was and he showed up at our parents' house fifteen minutes later. He reeked of whiskey and his eyes were puffy and bloodshot, like if he had been crying. I was really concerned because he's usually an energetic drunk..but that time he was just so.. defeated."

"We go inside the living room and he doesn't talk for a long time. He just sits there staring at the floor. This is so unlike him so I ask if he's okay. He then says, 'It would be better if she were here.' I had no idea who he was talking about so I asked and he said 'Jen.' I asked if something happened between you and he said that both of you were still in contact but it was not frequent. He said that he really missed you and what your relationship was like before. He said he wished he could just hold you. He also shared that this time of year was difficult because there were two anniversaries for the both of you. He didn't say exactly what anniversaries but he did say that they are something really special to him," she pauses and gazes at me.

I think to myself.. What happened in March and April of last year?

My heart fills to the brim with affection and it could leap out of my chest from the realization.

My hand shoots up and covers my mouth as I gasp.

We made love for the first time and we said I love you.

"Yes.. I know exactly what he is talking about," I answer with an unsteady voice.

She reaches out and places her hand over mine in reassurance. "This wasn't that long ago, Unni. I am almost positive that he still feels that way about you."
