•I'd been standing by Mr Banners classroom door for a couple of minutes now, waiting for him to come back from his lunch break. I'd been showing up early to class every day since the first day of school to try and make a better impression after being late on the first day. A figure came up beside me. I was expecting Mr. Banner, but then a different voice snapped me out of my train of thought.
"Good afternoon, Bella." Edward greeted politely as he came up beside me. I looked up at him, surprised that he'd spoken to me. I couldn't read the expression on his face. It seemed almost neutral... non hateful...
Maybe he was in a good mood today...
God, his voice is nice... I like the way he says my name... his eyes are beautiful...
"Hey." I responded, my cheeks turning a soft pink. God how embarrassing. Every time he looked at me with the friendly look in his eye I almost forget how much we dislike each other. Well, he dislikes me. But momentarily our rivalry seemed almost nonexistent. It was like there wasn't a trace of it.
"I can't believe two weeks of school has gone by already." Edward said casually as he leaned up on the wall beside me. It was as if trying to start up conversation with me again. I wasn't sure why he'd been trying to talk to me so much over the past few days, but he had been. "Any big plans for the weekend?"
"Sleepover with Alice tonight. We're going to re watch some classics." I shrugged quietly. I'd stayed over at the Cullens house before, and I was excited to get to go back. Esme always made the most incredible dinners for me and Alice and I would have fun talking and watching old movies. Friday nights used to be our thing.
"I was starting to wonder when you'd have another one of those." Edward murmured, his voice bitter. I usually forgot that Edward lived in the Cullen house too, and I forgot how much he didn't like me being there. He kept to himself whenever I was around. Edward pulled an almost mocking face as he spoke. "Esme just adores you."
"Thanks." I murmured, trying to ignore his tone. I'd been putting up with Edwards snide comments for two weeks now, and I was starting to get tired of it. And today especially I didn't have the energy to put up with him. There was a thunder storm last night and I couldn't seem to fall asleep.
"Oh we all just think you're brilliant. You may as well be a Cullen."
I scowled at him. Ever since we met last year he's only ever glared at me or made snide comments, and I was at the end of my rope once again. If my mother was here she wouldn't hesitate to encourage my anger towards Edwards attitude, after all I hadn't done anything to deserve it. I couldn't keep my frustration in.
My mother would be disappointed in my inability to stand up for myself. Edward wasn't actually friendly, deep down he was mean and cold hearted.
"What's your problem with me?" I snapped suddenly, pulling away from my angry thoughts. Edward looked surprised once again, and then his expression twisted into a different one. This one was slightly amused. "Seriously, are you this rude to everybody or is it just me?!"
"Oh it's just you." He smirked at my frustration, taunting me. His tone angered me even more, and my eyes stung with tears. It was an uncontrollable habit that happened any time I got upset. It was humiliating, but I couldn't control it. I looked down at the ground, hiding in my hair so he couldn't see the way my eyes pooled up.
