I must have dozed off again...

I didn't want to wake up. I didn't want to have to leave the comfortable safety of Edwards arms. I wasn't sure how much time had passed since I'd woken up before. For the first time in what felt like forever my body wasn't sore, and my head didn't hurt. I was well rested, and felt good.

I kept my eyes closed, not wanting Edward to know I was awake. He'd likely make me get up for breakfast or something. Instead, I pressed myself closer to his chest, pretending to still be asleep. I wanted his affection, even if I had to pretend to be asleep to get it.

He moved his arms around me, and his hand gently stroked through my hair. I enjoyed the feeling of being held by Edward as the minuets passed. He was strong, that was obvious, but there was more. It was like I had some sort of an instinct to feel safe with him. It was like the instinct I had to cower when I had first known him, only backwards.

"Good afternoon." He murmured. He sounded amused, and I felt a rush of embarrassment. He knew I was awake. His fingers brushed some of my hair out of my face, and my cheeks heated up. His words sunk in, and I sat up quickly.

I must have been sleeping for hours.

"Afternoon?" I asked as I quickly flattened out my disastrous bedhead to look somewhat acceptable. The embarrassment in my voice made Edward laugh softly to himself, and my cheeks heated up even more.

"You were tired." Edward grinned as he sat up beside me. "I told you."

At least now I know that our interactions this morning hadn't been a dream. Edward and I actually are going on a date.

"Looks like you win again." I rolled my eyes and pushed away the covers. I had to tell Alice about my new plans with Edward. Surely she would be pleased to hear it.

"I always do." He nodded in agreement, and grinned fondly at me. I fought the urge to  stay under cover and forced myself out of bed. I can't believe I slept in so much. I never do this. And with Edward. "You fell asleep on top of me."

I stood by the window, my back turned to Edward. I didn't want him to see the crimson in my cheeks, I felt like he was certain to call me out on it and tease.

"Well, you're comfortable." I informed him as I gazed out the window. I couldn't see the sun, but I could see Jasper and Emmett in the backyard under the clouds throwing around some sort of round, ball like object. It was too misshapen to be a ball though.

It was the middle of the afternoon. Everyone else was awake.

Edward silently moved to my side, and the two of us looked out over the forest in a comfortable silence. I watched the two boys throw whatever it was they were throwing, and squinted my eyes to try and make out what it was. Before I could identify the object, I was distracted by Rosalie stepping out onto the back patio.

Rosalie obviously distracted Emmett too, because this time when Jasper threw the object he missed. My eyes widened as it flew past Emmett, and hit the ground. It smashed into a million sharp grey pieces.
