Christian~

Running my hand gently up and down JJ's arm, I can feel her breathing slow as she falls asleep while lying on my chest. Moments of peace are few and far between these days, I'm glad she has enough now to get some sleep, even if it's only about nine.

Pulling open Instagram on my phone, careful not to jostle JJ too much, I take a picture of her and move on to post it. "@ChristianYelich: The strongest person I'll ever meet and I'm lucky enough to call her my wife. Not something I'd typically post, but I just wanted to thank everyone for respecting our privacy, mostly JJ's privacy, at this time. Obviously, a lot of stuff has come out and will continue to come out that we'd have liked to have been able to keep between us, all I ask is that you continue to respect our privacy and Olivia's family's privacy."

Glancing at the 'Always Sunny' Rerun playing on our TV for a moment before I look back at JJ, I don't think she's been sleeping well the past few nights. I lock my phone and set it on our coffee table before kissing the top of JJ's head and settling into the couch for the night.

Jailyn~

Stretching a little, my eyes pinch together tightly, just waking up to the light pouring in from our living room windows. I guess we never made it back upstairs last night. Blinking a couple of times, I let my eyes adjust, I wonder what time it is. I'd guess a little after seven, hopefully not much later than that, since we're meant to be back in court at nine. My phone is still in Christian's car from yesterday. Glancing up, Christian is still sleeping, looking at our coffee table, Christian's phone is resting on it. Reaching over, I grab it and turn it towards me, 7:05.

Even though it's against my better judgment, I screen to unlock Christian's phone to check what people are saying on Twitter. Seeing the picture of me asleep on his chest stops me from getting there, sliding my thumb up the screen, I read the caption, smiling a little to myself as I read the first few words.

"Morning," Christian says, his voice husky, having just woken up. His arm resting across my chest gives me a small squeeze.

"Morning," I reply, locking his phone and looking up at him, "I love you."

Christian's brows furrow together a little as a small smile creeps onto his lips, "I love you, too. What's that about?"

"Nothing," I reply, "I was about to look at Twitter, but you still had your post from last night pulled up when I unlocked your phone."

"Oh, did you catch the time?"

"Yeah, it's just past seven," I reply, glancing back at his phone to confirm, "Which means we should probably get ready to go again." The reality of today seemingly hits me for the first time, while we're past everything being brought up again, we're meant to be getting the verdict for my case today. After that, Olivia's case will start. From my understanding, they wanted a verdict to be made for me first to see if my story and even witness are even able to be used in Olivia's case.

Rationally, I understand why that's the case but personally, it fucking sucks knowing that there's a reality where everything from my personal life is now public for no reason.

"What's on your mind?" Christian asks, pushing my hair back gently.

Shaking my head slightly, I let a breath out of my nose, "Same old same old, mostly just how much I want this all to be over."

The sympathetic smile I receive in response helps less than I think he knows, "Should be soon, with any luck, Oliva's case will be wrapped up by the end of the week and we can all start to move on from this."

"Yeah," I reply quietly, there are two outcomes that will make moving on a lot harder still on the table.

Pulling up to the courthouse, the media presence and fanfare have seemed to triple since yesterday. Christian and I share a glance as we're directed where to park, throwing my sunglasses on, I try to ignore every camera seemingly pointed at us. You'd think this was the Oscars with this sort of turnout. Actual vultures.
