Jailyn~

Waking up, I feel the gentle trail of kisses over my shoulder. Smiling slightly to myself, I stretch slightly before turning to meet the soft lips waiting for mine. "Morning," I greet, the soft smile remaining on my face after our kiss.

"Happy anniversary," He whispers back, kissing me again gently before he rolls over to his end table. What's he doing? Usually we do a little more than just kissing before he goes for the condoms. Turning in our bed to face him, I prop my head up with my hand, elbow on the pillow as his drawer is pushed shut again.

The iconic blue box would be impossible to miss as Christian turns back to me.

"Christian," I say, breathy as I purse my lips with a smile.

"What?" He asks, a small grin on his face as he hands me the box, "You think I'm not going to celebrate the best thing that's ever happened to me? Especially after the year we've had?"

Scoffing, I shake my head, "You're lucky I'm still too tired to get emotional over that."

Chuckling, Christian nods, "Open it." With a small roll of my eyes, smile still planted on my face, I pull on the white ribbon. Letting it fall between us, I grab the top of the box and shake it gently to get it open. Once the bottom falls into my open hand, I set the top to the side and am enchanted by the sparkling tennis necklace on display.

"Christian," I whisper, seeing the Tiffany diamonds sparkling in the warm morning light peeking in through our curtains. Taking it gently, I examine the platinum settings as the entire 16 inches shimmers in my hands. "You're too good to me."

"Definitely not," Christian laughs, "You just refuse to believe that you deserve the world." Letting my hands fall between us, I lean over and press my lips to his again.

With my eyes closed, I feel the tears starting in them, and I can't help but laugh, "Fuck, maybe I am awake enough to be emotional."

Chuckling, Christian nods as he takes the necklace from my hands, "Turn around." Turning for him, I hold my hair up to let him clasp the necklace around my neck. It fits perfectly, a few inches above where my necklace from my mom rests. "I was a little worried about it with the one from your mom, but-"

"It's perfect," I tell him, cutting him off as I do. "Thank you."

Using his thumb, he wipes my cheek gently. "Always."

"I did get you a gift too; I just wasn't expecting to get a gift this early," I comment, teasing a bit.

"We'll get to it," He comments, leaning in again as I bridge the gap between us. We share a small peck before he pulls back a moment, "Eventually." A smirk pulls on the corner of my lips as I lean into my husband again.

After our second round, we just lay with one another for a bit as Christian scrolls through Instagram on his phone. We're both getting tagged in a good handful of stories and posts from our friends and family given today's date. The focus being on that rather than the alternative of what the media cycle has been stuck on is a nice change. It's pretty cute seeing everyone's posts and the edits fans seem to make.

This only lasts a couple of minutes before Christian lets his phone rest on his chest before kissing the side of my head. "Wanna grab a shower?" Pursing my lips to the side, I grab his phone to check the time and see it's just after ten.

"Yeah," I agree, sitting up, before stretching my hands towards my toes. Christian stands right away, twisting a moment to stretch his lower back and hips as I just watch, one year married, almost six of knowing him, and I'm not sure I'll ever get over how lucky I am to be the one in his bed.
