"I promise I'm not trying to be a dick," Christian starts, "I kinda thought you might be on it now."
"Funny," I reply, rolling my eyes, "Can we just fucking drop this being annoyed with each other?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry," He states, pausing a moment before answering the original question, "The last I'd known was before Seychelles for sure. I don't know when, though. What's going on?"
"Cause I'm thinking it's been at least eight weeks now," I confirm, "And that's a loose guess. Obviously, we've been careful, but... That hasn't exactly mattered before."
Christians brow furrows a moment before the realization hits him, "Fuck."
"Yeah," I say, letting out a breath as I push my hand through my hair before letting my hand rest slightly over my mouth as I try to get an exact time frame pinpointed. That eight-ish weeks seems about right. "I just assumed the puking this morning was more to do with my first day conditioning since my season ended."
Taking the couple of steps towards the bed, I sit down, Christian following close by. He doesn't say anything for a moment, seeming very pensive before he rubs his hand over his face. "You really think you could be pregnant?"
I can't help as I scoff, "I mean yeah, that's usually what a missed period and vomiting means."
"I thought we were dropping the sass?" He asks, not exactly mad about my statement but not loving how my sass came off.
"Sorry," I say, shaking my head briefly. "It's more to do with me now being stressed than anything." Christian just nods, seemingly not really knowing what to say. Obviously the next step would be us getting a couple tests.
"Fuck," Christian comments again, looking back at me, "So we should get some tests then, right? Especially to make sure before you're drinking tonight."
"If this is a real thing, you're not drinking either," I tell him, joking slightly but not able to laugh through the stress I'm feeling instead. "Then again, I don't think that either of us are willing to put our careers on hold right now regardless."
"Yeah," He replies with seemingly almost a hint of dejection? "Let's get a couple tests and know for sure before we stress too much about it. It's easy to talk about not knowing what's actually happening yet." We both know he's right. My eyes fall to my hands a moment before Christian pulls me into him. "I'm sorry for being a dick earlier. I just don't want to see you get hurt."
Leaning into him, finding how we mold together, I nod. "I know, I'm sorry for being bitchy about it. I just need you to trust me a little more when I tell you I'm okay."
Kissing the top of my head, Christian confirms, "I do, I love you."
"I love you too."
Christian lets me go before letting his hand rest on my thigh. "So are we going to go grab these tests?"
"I was going to say we can just postmates them," I tell him, chuckling a little before I add, "I'd rather not get caught buying them, especially if it isn't a thing."
"You're so smart," He tells me, teasing a little at the obvious answer I'd given. Pulling out his phone, I watch him navigate the app, finding the closest store to us and searching for the tests. "Does it matter what ones?"
"Probably not, I think ClearBlue and First Response are the typical ones. If I am actually pregnant to the point I'm puking, I think any would work just fine though." Adding both the suggested tests to the cart, he heads to checkout. "ETA?"
"Like twenty minutes, but that doesn't really mean much here," He confirms, finishing the order. Once it's all set, he tosses his phone to the side. "Now I guess we just wait."
