Angels!! Welcome back to another chapter! I have changed my username so I really hope that none of you got too confused. I changed it to my name so I hope it is alright! Also a massive thank you for reaching 76k readers on Shadows! We are getting close to 80k! It is crazy how this story is going to be almost two years old! I do have to say that we are reaching closer to it's end but no worries, there is a second book coming!

We were already in Idris. Alec held onto my hand as he looked at me. I saw a glance of fear in his eyes and I could feel it through our parabatai bond.
"Please stay safe." He said as he looked at me. His eyes were flickering as he was looking at me. I frowned slightly and nodded.
"You too..." I said softly as I stared at him.
"Guys, there is a massive hole here." Izzy said confused. I looked away from Alec to his sister who was standing behind him.
I walked towards her and looked at the massive hole in the middle of Idris. It was deep. I could see it but what the hell was this?
"What the hell is this?" Alec asked confused as he looked up towards Magnus. Magnus shrugged his shoulders as he looked down like the rest of us.
"I have never seen like this." Magnus said confused. I saw something flying up in a high speed and I widened my eyes.
"Guys! Move!" I quickly shouted but I was far too late. We all were. The demon that came out, made us fly away with his wings, almost slapping us.
I saw Alec's body bouncing back and Izzy was hit by one of the massive wings. Magnus fell back and so did I. I grunted as I tried looking at the rest. I felt the dragon flying away.
"Alec?!" I screamed as I didn't see him getting up. I stood up and felt the wing hitting me all over again, knocking me over again. I gasped for breathe and felt like my lungs where collapsing.
"Magnus?" I breathed out as I tried searching for him. I exhaled sharply and tried searching for my stele so I could active my iratze rune.
"Clary?" Magnus asked. I looked up and saw him laying down. He nodded at me as I looked at him.
"It is a dragon. A demon from hell." He said and I looked at him startled. How did this even happen? How was this even possible? From hell?
"I need to close this rift. There could be more coming." Magnus said quickly and he stood up holding magic in his hands. I saw the dragon coming for Magnus and I quickly threw a blade at him which managed to touch one of it's wings.
The dragon screeched loudly and started coming my way.
"I am going to distract it until you close it." I said as I looked at Magnus.
"Be careful!" He shouted and I nodded my head. I quickly took my seraph blade and started running. I could feel that my lungs weren't working as effectively. I couldn't barely breathe. It felt like a razor was just cut upon my throat.
I looked behind me and saw the dragon flying after me. After a second, he released fire from his mouth which almost made me fall. I grunted and quickly restrained myself, and remained running. I saw the woods and I knew that I didn't have any other place than that. I had to get in.
I grunted and ran inside the woods. I ran and ran until I couldn't breathe. I stopped and exhaled sharply. It started to make me feel sick. I turned myself around to see whether the dragon was still there but to my surprise it wasn't. Confused, I looked around, seeing whether he could be anywhere here.
I grunted when I felt it's wing hitting me again which made fall over. I laid on the grass and tried getting a hold of my seraph blade but it was too far gone. I turned myself around and saw the dragon flying just above me. Shocked, I started to move backwards but I knew that it wouldn't be much help.
I saw one of Alec's arrows flying just past the dragon which caught his attention. I widened my eyes when I saw Alec appearing. He was fixing one of his arrows again to shoot at the demon. I shook my head as I saw the dragon turning around.
"Alec. No." I said softly. He stood still and focused one of his arrows on the dragon but when he let go, he missed. I could see the shock in his eyes. He widened his eyes and he quickly turned himself around to run.
"Alec!" I shouted as I saw the dragon firing at him. I quickly stood up but felt my legs almost giving up. I almost lost my balanced and grunted.
"Come on Clary. He needs you." I said to myself. I took my seraph blade and quickly ran behind the dragon. Alec was running so fast. I hadn't seen him run like that for a long time. He was running towards Magnus who was still busy closing the rift.
"Magnus!" I heard him shouting his name but Magnus could barely look up. He was still closing the rift. If he lost his connection once, he needed to do it all over again which could lead to another demon coming out.
I threw my seraph blade at the dragon which went right through his wing. The dragon screeched loudly again and collapsed on the ground. He fired one last ball to Alec which caught him off guard.
"ALEC!" I screamed when I saw him falling onto the ground. Izzy quickly made sure that the dragon was dead when I made my way to Alec.
"I am okay." Alec breathed out as he tried to sit up. He grunted and I could see the dark substance on his face because of the fire.
"Good." I said and slapped him across his face. Confused and shocked, Alec looked at me with his beautiful blue eyes.
"What was that for?" He asked annoyed when I helped him stand up. I could see the bruises on his face. His t-shirt was ripped and I could see a cut that was bleeding. I wish I could slap him all over again for his stupidity.
"For coming after me. You could have killed yourself." I said annoyed and Alec looked at me as he scoffed.
"Are you serious?" He asked and I could hear in his voice that he was slightly annoyed by my reaction. I nodded my head.
"Yes." I answered as I looked at him.
"You would have done the same for me." He said as he looked at me and I sighed. I looked away from him. I couldn't deny that because it was true. I would have done the same thing.
"You could have died..." I said softly as I looked at him. I rather die than seeing him get killed because of him. The thought of him being gone already hurt me in ways that I couldn't explain nor would ever be able to explain.
"I know that but I rather die than seeing you die." He said and I shook my head. I held my finger on his mouth which made him stop talking. He looked at me with a serious look but was a bit confused by my gesture.
"Don't say that." I said as I looked at him. Alec held my face with his hand which was covered in his blood.
"I would have done it again in a heart beat." He said and I looked at him sadly. I know whatever I would say, he would always prioritise my life over his. He would never change that. I sighed and I looked down.
"But thank you for being worried about me." He said and I looked at him with a smile around my lips. I came closer and gave him a soft kiss on his lips as if I was scared that this could be my last one...
No Clary... Never.
"I am not sorry about that slap though." I said and he chuckled.
"Noted." He answered.
