As soon as we went through the portal, I started to run towards the lake. My heart was beating so fast and for a second, I thought that I would faint if it would continue like this. I wasn't thinking straight. The only thing that was going around in my mind was that I had to get to Jace. I needed to get to my brother.

No one else could die again.... Not him... I can't lose the last family member I had...

"Jace!" I shouted as I was running. It felt like an eternity before I got to the lake. I was out of breathe but that didn't stop me from getting to him.

I didn't hear him reply and the first thought that came in my mind was that he was already in the water. I put my seraph blade down on the grass and took a deep breathe.

"Clary! Wait!" I heard Alec shout but I didn't wait for him. I jumped into the lake and felt my body being pulled by the current of the lake. I tried looking around whether I could see something or Jace.

It was quite dark down here and I didn't know how much longer I could hold my breathe in. I was drifting a little bit and turned myself around to see if he was anywhere near me.

I widened my eyes when I saw Jace unconscious bound stuck with a rock that was deep in the water. I wanted to shout his name but it wouldn't help. He wouldn't hear me and I wouldn't be able to hold my breath in more.

I swam as quick as I could and when I got Jace, I started pulling him, trying to wake him up but nothing was working. The rope was tightly around Jace's body. His neck was hanging and I feared that he was drowning already.

I slapped him, hoping that it would wake him up but nothing helped. I widened my eyes when I saw something like a demon coming for me. The demon bit me in my shoulder which made me scream in agony. I felt the water fill my lungs and I couldn't find a way to get rid of it.

My body lowered in the water and I felt like I was getting sucked to the bottom. The demon came against towards me and in fear, I closed my eyes. I felt the need of breathing and I started to struggle being underneath the water.

I felt someone pulling my hand and when I opened my eyes, I saw Alec looking at me. He was worried and angry at the same time. He pulled me but I shook my head as I looked at Jace.

When I looked at Jace, I saw that Magnus and Izzy already got him loose from the rock. I smiled and started to cough underneath the water. I felt myself slip away again but Alec didn't let go of me.

He strongly held my arm and pulled up to the water. When we were above the water, I exhaled sharply and started to cough.

"Do you even realise how suicidally idiotic that was?!" Alec shouted angrily at me. I sighed and was breathing heavily.

"I had to get to him." I breathed out as I looked at Alec. He clenched his jaw angrily and shook his head.

"You don't do that when you know that this could be a possible trap!" Alec shouted and I blinked my eyes a few times. The water was dripping of his hair to his lips.

"If you came alone... You could have died." He said strongly as he looked scared at me. I shook my head and was still breathing heavily. My chest was hurting a bit...

"I didn't." I said as I looked into his eyes. Alec opened his mouth slightly but didn't say anything. He was annoyed. I knew that he was but what did he expect me to do? Wait until they came and let my brother die quicker? He would have done the same thing if it came to Izzy.

Alec started to swim away and I saw Jace laying down on the ground with Izzy and Magnus at his side. I sighed and started to swim towards the end so I could come out.

I screamed when I felt something bit my leg and pulled me again in the water. I felt the water hit me hard which made me feel a bit dizzy. I saw the demon up close now.

It kind of looked like a shark but it was huge and dark. It has massive sharp teeth and it's eyes were bloody red. It was truly terrifying. I held my breathe in and started to kick the demon with my other leg. I closed my eyes as I felt the excruciating pain in my leg.

I saw my blood leaving a rail in the water which made me feel terrified even more. I didn't had anything sharp on me to get him away from me. I was going to die like this.

I saw Alec coming in the water again and this time with a seraph blade. He swam quickly towards me and stabbed the demon with seraph blade. With his fin, he knocked out Alec to the other side of the water at least a few metres away from me.

"ALEC!" I shouted without realising that I would allow the water inside my lungs again. I chocked and quickly closed my mouth. The demon let go of me and I took the seraph blade.

Angrily, I swam towards the demon and stabbed it right in it's throat which killed him. He was bleeding out and started to sink to the bottom of the lake. I turned myself around so I could swim towards Alec but could feel myself giving up.

I coughed again and choked on the water. I tried swimming up but it didn't help. I couldn't get up again. I was out of energy. I looked at Alec who started to sink to the bottom and slowly started to close my eyes...
