"Okay, here we are."
Nagtataka akong lumingon sa paligid.
"Bea? Akala ko ba uuwi na tayo? Bakit nandito tayo?"
She just smiled at me and pull me out of the car.
"Bea, gabi na ha."
"I know. I just...want a little stroll in the park with you." she said and I can feel the sadness in her tone.
"Tara?" she smiled at me.
How can I resist her? Lagi siyang nagpa-pacute kapag may gusto siyang gawin.
I held her hand na kanina pa nasa harapan ko and together, we walked the same park we used to visit nung naka-wheel chair pa si Bea.
"Do you remember this place?"
She started the conversation.
"Bakit naman hindi?"
We stopped from walking and I faced her.
"This is where I started to get to know the grumpy and injured Bea de Leon. Laging naiirita ang itsura, at kulang na lang, sakalin ako sa sobrang inis sa akin pag nakikita ako."
She let out a small laugh.
"Am I that rude to you?"
"Well, medyo. Binuhusan mo ako ng gatas, remember? You attempted escaping by pushing your own wheel chair in the middle of the road, shouting at me kahit wala naman akong kasalanan sayo, and making yourself believe na di mo kailangan ng kung sino para mabuhay dahil ayaw mo naman na talagang mabuhay."
She just laughingly listened to me.
"The funny part of it was, that happened last year. And now, we are back here in this park. Pero ang kaibahan nga lang, wala nang grumpy and injured Bea de Leon. Hindi na naninigaw, hindi na nambubuhos ng gatas, at gusto nang mabuhay." I sincerely looked at her.
"Time flew so fast, Jho. I wasn't expecting someone like you to come in my life and help me start again. I thought, what if, hindi ikaw yung pinadala para maging doktor ko, I'm pretty sure I'm still stucked in the past."
I just tiptoed and raffled her hair.
"Tara. Don tayo sa pinakapaborito nating spot." I pulled her to where the giant sequioa tree is.
But I was surprised with what I saw.
A set up of a table for two and some lights being hanged up in the branches of the tree.
"Hala. May magdi-date yata dito sa spot na to. Tara na nga, sa ibang lugar na lang muna tayo mag-stay." hihilahin ko na dapat siya paalis doon pero ako ang hinila niya.
"Yep. May magdi-date dito." I looked at her as if asking kung sino at kung bakit niya ako hinihila papunta doon.
"Tayo." she confidently said tsaka tuluyan na akong hinila palapit sa mesa.
"Hoy. Ha??" I wasn't able to absorb what she previously said.
Pero ang loko, nginitian lang ako.
"You may sit down now." she pulled the chair for me so I sat down.
She immediately sat down on the other chair that's facing me.
Tsaka niya dahan-dahang binuksan yung mga natatakpang plato and I immediately laughed when I saw what are the foods in it. Pagkaing pinoy.
