I woke up with the sound of my ringing phone.

Who the hell will disturb me knowing that I just got asleep for just five hours?!!

I blindly picked up my phone by following where the sound is and without looking at the screen, I answered it.

"Hello?" I spoke lazily and sleepily.

"Wake up Beatriz!"

I suddenly opened my eyes when I heard the voice.

"Jia?!"

I heard a chuckle from the other line.

"Come on kapre, gumising ka na diyan. Don't tell me you forgot that it's the first day of school?"

Shoot.

"Hoy! Nakalimutan mo ba?!" she irritatingly asked.

"N-no! No! I did not forgot eh!" I denied.

"Tigilan mo ko sa kaka-deny mo Beatriz ha! I know you too well. Don't tell me, you forgot that you are going to college na and again you've made a lot of time to finish your legos?"

Napasapo ako ng noo because it's actually true. I forgot I'm a freshman.

"Okay, fine. I'm sorry. But I'll get up and prepare na oh. You are too excited for me. Ano? Nanay ko lang?"

"Ha-ha. Don't make corny jokes Bea. Just get up and see you on the campus, okay?"

"Yeah." I said nonchalantly then ended the call.

I immediately went out of my bed to take a bath.

"Good morning mom, dad, kuya!"

I happily greeted them as soon as I reached the dining room.

"Good morning Beatriz. Naks naman! Looks like, you prepared for the first day of school, ayt?" kuya said as he put my coffee in front of me.

"Hindi naman, kuya. Si Jia kasi eh. Mas excited pa kesa sa akin. She woke me up by a phone call."

I said and I even rubbed my eyes but my family just laughed.

"Eh paano ba naman kasi... Crush na crush mo yung tao. Edi ayan. Just one word she'll say, you'll follow. Naku anak, wag ka namang pa-under kapag nagka-jowa ka na." dad said laughingly and the others laughed too.

"Daaadddd!! Kung anu-anong sinasabi mo. Oo nga, I have a crush on Jia. But that doesn't mean, I'll pursue her. You know that." I said without looking at them as I ate my meal peacefully.

"Pffft.. Okay. Sabi mo eh." sinamaan ko ng tingin si kuya.

Mang-aasar pa eh.

After breakfast, I went off to Ateneo.

And as I entered the campus, I felt like I was born to be here. I belong to this.

I was so busy roaming my eyes around it's aesthetically and artistically built Church of Gesu when someone covered my eyes.

Hay naku. Wala man lang bago?

The scent of her hands is enough for me to recognize this creature.

"Hay Jia. When will you get tired of covering my eyes eh halos hindi mo nga ako maabot kasi ang liit mo. Naka-tiptoe ka na naman."

"Ito naman! Ang yabang ha! Porket matangkad ka? Tsaka fyi, matangkad din naman ako, nasobrahan ka lang!" she said kaya natatawa akong humarap sa kanya.
