Jasmine's POV

>2 months later<

- Okay it's time! - the midwife says nervously and Shawn immediately squeezes my hand tighter.
I'm laying here since hours, waiting for our baby to come.
- Now listen to me, you have to breath. I know it hurts, but concentrate on breathing and pushing, okay? - she says and I nod.
To be honest it's fucking hard not ot scream, this pain is so bad. Shawn looks at me with such pain and happiness in his eyes, I don't know what to say. His hand still holds mine, but I guess he'll let go of it soon because I can't stop squeezing it. The pain forces me to.
- AHHH - I scream, squezzing Shawn's hand again.
- I'm sorry. - I mumble looking at him.
The sweat is already dripping from my head.
- No no, it's okay. You're doing an amazing job babe. We'll do this together. - he smiles and gives me a kiss on my forehead.
- Okay, Jasmine look at me. Breath in and out, in and out, in and out. - the midwife says.
I'm scared. Not of the birth but the pain. I don't want it to get even more worse.
- And now push! - I do as she says and nearly faint. This is so exhausting!
- OH MY GOD. - I scream, leaning my head backwards.
I knew that giving birth to a child is paintful, but I never thought that this will be so bad.
- Yeah, I can already see the head, push again! - she smiles at me, making me push again.
I guess Shawn doesn't know what to do. Smile or cry, he is so compassionate.
- AHHH.
- Okay, one more time and she's here! She's fast!
I push one more time and feel released like hell. There's no more pain, or at least not as much as before.
Suddenly I hear a little baby's scream and look over to the midewife. She comes over to me and lays her on my chest.
A little baby, covered in a small blanket, still with blood.
I hold her and try to hold back my tears, she's so beautiful.
- Congratulation Mr. & Mrs. Mendes. - she smiles.
I look over at Shawn, who can't believe it. He's crying and smiling, leaning forwards to kiss me.
- God, she's so gorgeous, like you. I'm so proud of you. - he cries and carefully strokes her head with his hand.
I can't believe it either.
- I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I need to check if the baby's okay. - the doctor says smiling and takes her from me.
- Oh my god. - I say starting to cry.
- Yes, oh my god. - he lays his forehead on mine, holding my hand tight.
- I'm so happy and thankful. I love you. - his soft lips meet mine and his other hand holds my cheek.
- I love you too. - I smile.
Suddenly the doctor comes back, holding her in his arms.
- The little girl is perfect, no diseases or other health problems. - he smiles laying her on my chest again.
She's weading some clothes now, totally cute.
- What's the little girl's name? - he asks us.
I immediately look over at Shawn who's admiring our baby.
We decided on a name a long time ago.
- Skylar. Skylar Lou Mendes. - Shawn says with such glittering eyes.
Our eyes meet each others and our smiles grow.
I nod and look back at the doctor.
- Yes, Skylar Lou Mendes.
The doctor smiles and nods, before he walks back to the nurses.
Shawn looks at Skylar again, giving her a kiss on her forehead.
- Welcome in our family Skylar. I love you and your mom more than words can say.
My heart is melting.
- Okay, you're going to get a room but I have to check on you first to see if you're okay. Mr. Mendes, the doctor will lead you and Skylar to the room, Mrs. Mendes is coming in a few minutes. - the midwife smiles, taking Skylar to lay her in little bed.

As I open the door I nearly begin to cry again.
Shawn is standing in the room, lulling her to sleep while singing 'Never Be Alone'.
- Take a piece of my heart and make it all your own, so when we are apart, you'll never be alone. - he softly sings, not looking away from her.
- Well, now I have to share your mom with you. Don't take her away from me, okay? - he chuckles.
I walk over to Shawn, making him look at me.
- I'm still yours. - I smile leaning forwards to kiss him.
