Dracos pov

I stayed up until the sun came up checking on her every five minutes. The nurse kept on insisting I go home and get some rest or at least rest in one of the spare beds but I refused. Her fever had broken around nine this morning and I was able to take her back to the cottage.
I decided to stay home because traveling from class to class wouldn't be good for Sophie. Around 10 Sophie fell asleep so I took this opportunity to take a quick shower. The warm water felt so nice on my tired body. I quickly got out and changed into grey sweat pants. I made my way into Sophie's room and quickly scooped her up. I payed her on my bed and laid next to her watching her sleep. My eyes got heavier and heavier to the point where I was engulfed into darkness.

Hours later

My eyes shot open to the sound of a knock on my door. I slowly pull myself out of bed and make my way to my door. I open my door and surprisingly it's my mother and father. "Draco why haven't you been in your classes or answering our owls" my mother says worried. "Never mind that you should be in your classes young man" my father says angrily as he pushes past me into my small cottage. "I was up late with Sophie she had a high fever all night" I say. "Speaking of her I would love to meet her. Go get her" my mother says eagerly. I walk back into my room to see Sophie wide awake kicking her feet. "Hi baby we're gonna go meet some new people" I say as I pick her up off her back. I put her on my hip and bring her out to the living room. "My god she's bloody gorgeous" my mom says while snatching her out of my arms. Sophie starts to squirm a little bit "Shh Sophie it's ok" I say as I rub her back. "Sophie pffft. What kind of name is that? A weak one. We must change her name now. She can not be a Malfoy with a name like Sophie." "Your fathers right Draco what kind of name is Sophie. That's such a muggle name and we are not muggles we're pure-bloods. I think this little girl deserves a name like Andromeda or Orabelle" my mother interjects."Draco I believe she needs a name that will strike fear into people when they hear her name and it should be a strong name" my father says. I hated how he's met her for ten minutes and he's already telling me who's she's going to be when she grows up. I don't want her to be feared and hated when she grows up. I don't want her to turn out like me cold and mad at the world. "I think Andromeda is an exceptional name mother, her new name shall be Andromeda." To be honest I didn't hate the name and it was better than Sophie. My father just rolls his eyes and stares at her like she's going to grow wings at any moment. "Well Draco she's beautiful but we must be going we have some business to attend too" my mother says while handing me Andromeda back.
They leave and I look down at Andromeda "Those are your grandparents. I know they're a bit scary but I won't let them corrupt you I promise" I say. "Let's get some food into you shall we." I give her a warm bottle and check her temperature. Luckily it had gone back down to normal and stayed normal for a couple of hours.
By nightfall she was back to normal and we made a trip to the dining hall. I was starving because I had been to busy worrying about Andromeda and had forgotten to eat. "Hey where were you today you went in any classes" Goyle asks? "I stayed home to take care of Andromeda she had a high fever last night so I spent the night in the infirmary with her." "Wait I thought the infirmary was closed because of the elves" Crabbe says. "I thought it was because of the rats" Pansy chimes in. "Your both wrong it's because of the dragons and they set a temporary one up in the north wing" I say fed up. "I thought her name was Sophie not Andromeda" Blaise asks confused. "Sophie was too muggle she needed a Malfoy worthy name."
After we got home I put Andromeda in the bath and played with bubbles and her rubber ducks. How could something so small and innocent grow into a stone cold person. My parents gave me everything accept their love and I wouldn't do that to Andromeda, she deserves better. "Come on sweet girl" I say as I put her in a towel. I put her into a fresh diaper and a thick onesie. Since it was November it was pretty cold and I couldn't risk her getting another fever. I put her in her crib and read her a story and soon enough she's out like a light. I crawl into my bed and the cold sheets feel good against my aching body. I guess getting only four hours of sleep isn't good for the body. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.
