CALUM
I stare at the large building as we step up to the door. Thinking about all the years I spent at this school and the times I had here. Liz and Luke thought it would be an interesting idea for us to visit the school between exam periods to see what it would be like, not to mention the fact that all the girls wanted to see what school is like here. We obliged and made a meeting for 10am on a friday.
"You wuld really love it here now, I promise," Liz has a wide smile on her face as she shows us through the halls. I remember when she decided to switch schools, just after we started the band she was a new teacher at NCC and from what I remember she was probably the best teacher they had. "Practically the whole staff is new. Actually out newest English and History teacher - Ms Carmichael, oh she's the sweetest."
I roll my eyes to myself as she walks on pointing out different spots, telling us stories about ourselves. Reminding us of the old classroom we used to practice in during lunch, showing us different class rooms and telling us about the new class there. But when we step into one classroom i let out a small smile, remembering it as Liz's old math classroom. But now it's totally different.
The classroom is bright white with bright spots of yellow, and sunflowers in the windows. Books hang from the roof, maps and posters of different bands and quotes and movies hang on walls. There's music laying in the background and six large stacks of exams on different tables, one with papers spread across it.
"Uh, hello?"
I turn, seeing a small blonde girl standing in the doorway. Glasses on top of her head and a cup of tea held tightly in her hand. She raises an eyebrow at me while I stand alone in the room - totally unaware that everyone else had totally left me behind.
"Oh I'm sorry, i thought students weren't at the school today?" I shuffle a little closer to the door as she moves into the room.
"They're not. I'm a teacher," I can feel the heat rise from my chest to my face as she offers a small smile. Understanding my embarassment almost entirely.
"I am so, so sorry. I just...I used to go here and we were touring it and....I've made an ass out of myself so I'll head out."
"Alright, well it was nice meeting you, Calum," I turn as I leave a little shocked that she knew my name but I spot a poster hanging in the room - explaining why she knew it. I keep my smile to myself as I run down the hall to catch up with the other two.
"Where'd you go?"
"Bathroom. I got lost," I shrug at Michael, sneaking one more peak at Liz's old room.
As the end of the tour come we end up in the garden just chatting as the wind blows. I laugh as Michael and Luke tell some stupid story about their fight over Aleisha catching a glimpse of the teach I'd seen before.
"Hey Liz," she turns to me, waiting for me to finish my sentence. "What was that teachers name? The one who has your old room?"
I nod my head in the direction of the girl. Her yellow sweater disappearing behind cars as she wanders through the parking lot.
"Tenley. Tenley Carmichael."
I nod, keeping the name in my head as we finish chatting before she takes us home. Just like when we were teenagers, being dropped off at each others parents houses.
"Well, you look smiley," i jump as Mali-Koa pokes her head over the back of the couch.
"Oh, Uhm I..."
"Saw a pretty girl?"
"Yeah, how did you..."
"You always have that dumb look on your face when you meet someone pretty."
