"So, what's your favourite thing about being a rockstar?" I'm a little taken aback by her question but I think of my answer none the less.

"I think, just making the music?"

"You think?" I shrug, not knowing my answer was wrong.

"Well, I've never really thought that hard on the topic if I'm going to be entirely honest."

"Okay so, close your eyes," I listen to the smaller girl, closing my eyes. "If you had to give up the life you have, what is one thing you would keep?"

"The boys," I'm not shocked by my answer. I've been with those three nearly everyday for ten years. I gave up so many things just to be with them and do what we love together. Without them I would be absolutely nothing.

"And besides that? If you could keep them no matter what?"

"The music. I love writing the music." I open my eyes again watching as she leans back against the door. Her dark eyes settled softly on my face. "If i was doing anything else in my life I think I would still be writing music, even if it was just for me."

"It's a good outlet isn't it?"

"It's an amazing outlet. I get to put my feelings out into the open and it's my choice if anyone else hears them and I know that everyone relates them," she nods, waiting to see if I have more to say. "What about you?"

"Oh I uh, I write I guess. Like ntes and journals and stuff. Not really for people to read though."

"Would you ever write a song?"

"That would probably be the worst song ever written," her laughter is airy, floating through the car. "You would think I would have amazing writing skill but my dad got all of that."

"Your dad is a musician?"

"Uh kinda? He's a sound tech but does a lot of stuff on the side. Whatever anyone asks pretty much.

"Oh? What's his name?"

"David Carmichael, he's only really worked in Canada and Arizona so..."

"No, I think I've heard of him. He works with C M international?" she nods her head softly. "One Direction asked to work with him I think when we were on tour with them. He's super selective isn't he?"

"Yeah, he got really involved in his work a couple years ago and my mum got mad so he pulled back a lot, but I mean..."

"Hey, he can be as selective as he wants. From what I heard he helped a lot with One DIrection and their writing, that's a killer thing to have on your resume. I would know."

She laughs again, shaking her head. We fall into a soft silence, both watching as the rain falls, hard and loud against the car. I watch a text from my mum come across the deck, asking if I'm alright. I text her back quickly hoping she'll leave it as it is.

"So what's your favourite thing about being a teacher?"

"Oh geez, I don't know the kids I guess. I think it's too hard to pick."

"And it's not hard to pick when you're..."

"A rockstar?" I roll my eyes playfully, watching her smile widden. "I'm sure it's hard but you're much more talented than I am."

"I beg to differ."

"My special talent is liking kids?" I laugh at the unimpressed look on her face but shake my head.

"No, I mean i remember school it sucked being there, and our teacher hated us-"

"I've heard some stories about you as a student. You were pretty sport driven, but I don't think any of your teachers really hated you/ AT least not the ones that are still there."

"Is it still head teacher Scott?"

"Oh yeah, she's not a big fan of yours. Something about ignoring faith or something,''I shrug, hardly remembering that I went to a Chrstian college.

"I mean we didn't have to be Christian to go there, we were just close to the school so we went..." she nods, my heart rate begins to pick up as I realize that she may be practicing the script and I could be insulting her. "I mean not that practicing Christianity is bad or-"

"Relax, i"m not religious."

"But, don't you have to teach at the college?"

"No, I was baptised as a kid and they considered that recognition of faith. And I mean I teach scripture when I need to but I think i teach it a little better than others do."

"How do you teach scripture better than someone else?"

"Uh well, let all that you do be done in love," her eyebrows scrunch as she thinks quickly. "Promoting passion and understanding rather than hate or discrimitation. Relates to the human condition, something universally experienced. God, and the bible promo-"

"Okay, got it. You're a genius."

"No," her chuckle is soft and hidden as she fiddles with her hem. "I just took my time to understand how things in the world can relate to the bible. It's not my job to preach the whole thing but those parts that I believe wholeheartedly are something I'll teach."

"So you really pick and choose hey?"

"Oh of course. ANything that could be hateful I bypass and blow over. I don't share pinions but I will always make a kid explain why they think someone that is gay or drinks or anything like that is going to hell."

"Smart. I had a teacher who would actually yell if you couldn't recite at least half the bible or what was said at mass."

"I could never. Kids should just be kids."

"I wish I had you as a teacher."

With her smile I notice the rain slowing to a stop. Puddles formed on the sidewalk and the park completely empty spare some birds. I sigh as Tenley notices as well, shrugging her shoulders with a sigh herself.

"I should head out. I'm sure you have lots of things to do,''I nod to myself as she picks up her slinky little dog. "I'll see you around?"

"God I hope so."

I watch her climb out of the car and start walking down the sidewalk. I think about the open spaces I had to kiss her and didn't, and what if she wanted me to and I missed my only chances?

Before I really know what's happening I'm out of my car, rushing down the sidewalk towards her. She turns as I shout her name out - a confused look on her face as she holds BUtterscotch to her chest. I reach a hand out to the side of her face when I get close enough, pressing my lips to hers. Her small hand lays itself on mine, melting into my lips.

When I pull away she has a loopy smile on her face, and her deep eyes seem lighter than before. She nods - biting her lip.

"I really had to do that..."

"I'm...I'm really glad you did," she sways for a moment before hooking a thumb behind her back. "I should uh.."

"Yeah, of course. I'll.." we both nod as we turn away.
