Goodbye
He was in the interrogation room for hours, hearing Jim's voice constantly asking him questions made him want to bash his head against the glass wall or the cold metal table, didn't really matter, he just wanted him to shut the fuck up, that would be a much better idea than staying glued to a very uncomfortable metal chair.Every time his mind wondered to his beloved Josette he knew she was a complete wreck, crying non stop but he did hope she kept it together just for the sake of their daughter. The ginger missed his daughter more than anything, he knew he had to escape, but he escaped once and security was tighter than ever.
Everyone knew he committed these crimes, all the constant questions were just protocol, Jim didn't exactly enjoy questioning Jerome for this long either. "You have 28 victims that are known, but they are rumored to go up to the hundreds. Which I'm pretty sure is true." Jim said with exhaustion. A sinister smile appeared on his face, boy was that true, more than a hundred victims, even he didn't know the exact number, he knew he definitely made the history books.
"I'm going to ask you a few more questions." He added, making Jerome roll his eyes. "Sure go ahead Jimbo, I've already been here for hours, 10 more wont hurt." Getting ready for the next line of questions he leaned back into his seat.
Jim knew the next topic would be very sensitive to him, maybe even the both of them. This was more for Jim's benefit and wanted to keep it off the record, so his hand slid on the medal table to turn off the voice recorder. Jerome's head tilted with confusion. At the same time the media really wanted to know as well.
"Have you ever been physically abusive with any of your...partners." Clearly the only real relationship partner he had was Josette. Jim wanted to know, he just didn't believe that a decent girl like her would fall for a lunatic like him.
Jerome knew who he was talking about, and honestly this was a tricky question, he never hit her while they were dating, when he did it was in high school, they would rarely get into physical fights like any teens would, but she hit him too so it went both ways, usually she would hit him first, but he knew hitting her back was wrong, so he stopped of course as he grew older. He just couldn't come up with a clear answer so he stayed silent.
"Have you ever physically harmed my daughter?" Jim said almost on the verge of snapping, of course Josette wasn't his real daughter but he knew and cared for the girl ever since she was five, so the word just slipped out, she was the daughter he always wanted but never had.
Jerome gave him an amused look "She's not your daughter jimbo. And to answer your question...it's complicated really." He said letting out a sigh.
"How is it complicated?" The detective asked leaning forward wanting to hear what he had to say. "Never hit her while in the relationship. In high school we got in stupid kid fights. But no I never physically abused her." He explained very carefully, knowing that he was technically talking to his girlfriends nonbiological father and ex stepdad honestly their relationship really confused him.
