CHAPTER TWENTY ONE: pay back time 😎😈

SHOLA'S POV

It was 11:15 am and the meeting ought to have began by 11o'clock sharp but that wasn't the case, seeing as our precious new investor decided to show up late .  That was the whole point of fixing the meeting by that time to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience. Some of us had other things to do, me for one had to be at my restaurant and I'm sure others too have their own engagement.

Given the way she behaved at her party ,one would think the Tiwalola Animashaun was a competent business woman who knew time was money but obviously I was wrong.

The board room was filled with all the important figures in Cooker Luxury Ltd.   From my dad the CEO to the investors and all heads of department. Now all that was missing was her.

Everyone was already losing their patience especially my dad, but what could I say after all we were the ones that insisted on meeting with the new investor.

I couldn't stop thinking about this Tiwa. Not in a perverted way though, more like I was curious and drawn in to know more about her. Her striking resemblance with Lara was something I couldn't shake off  but man they were two different persons. Jamal was right.

My Lara was this sweet, innocent girl,funny and full of life. I often referred to her as a girl because she acted childish most times. I admired her was for it because even though she didn't have all the luxury in the world ,she was so happy with her life and acted like she never had a problem. At least not until I married her and let her fall victim to Shade's cruelty and I will always blame myself for that.  Her illiteracy and lack of exposure made her vulnerable to world .

But this Tiwa was the complete opposite of Lara. That woman was stunning... not that my Lara wasn't beautiful because she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen but Tiwa was sophisticated and carried herself in a manner that made other women at the party doubt their own beauty and that made her beauty stand out.

She was elegantly dressed looking like someone straight out of the cover of Forbes. Lara couldn't even put together a simple outfit.  Lara was kind ,nice and polite but this woman was rude and cold.  Fuck I needed to stop comparing them.

Just then the door was opened and Tiwa stepped in looking confident in her body fitting formal outfit. Now I'm imagining her. My mind told me.  I blinked twice and sure she was still there. I looked at the watch on my wrist to see it was already 11:30. All eyes were on her. Not surprise there when she came in looking like that.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting, ladies and gentlemen " Yeah apologise b'cos you've ruined most of our schedule. 

My dad turned his focus on her face giving off this  surprise yet confused look but doesn't say anything. Definitely seeing the resemblance between her and Lara.

A lady walked in right behind who I assumed to be her assistant. Tiwa sat down at the empty chair left for her directly opposite mine and her assistant sat behind her like other assistants in the room.

"Ms Animashaun you're late?"  It sounded more like an accusation than a question. She raised a brow at me obviously knowing what I meant.

"I believe I already apologised for that, right ,ladies and gent." She smiled looking around the room "I had something important to do ".  I smirked back at her knowing she was more than ready with a comeback of her own so I dropped it.

"let's begin then. Shall we?" My dad spoke clearly tried of the meeting before it even started.

"Right, before going further,I'll like to get everyone acquaint with Ms Tiwa Animashaun, the newest shareholder of C.L.L " my dad's eyes grew wide for awhile before turning into an expression I couldn't quite read. There were whispers all around the room clearly the Animashaun were a big deal and hearing that the lost but found Daughter was now a shareholder in our company was surprising to say the least.

The meeting started fully and several issues relating to the company's current financial performance were discussed but my mind couldn't focus. I kept on glancing at her from across the table and every now and then will make eye contact.

At the end of the meeting, she invited everyone to their company's Anniversary. As everyone started filling out she remained sitted and I sat observing her. When the last person was gone she stood up and walked towards the door before turning to face me as I was still sitting.

"Shola Cooker, don't you ever try to come at me like that again." She said with a cold voice glaring daggers at me "or else I'll be ready for you " and with that she smiled and left me perplexed. Wondering whether it was just about what I said or something else was involved.

Tiwa's POV

"Urrggh, the nerve of that bastard " Was he trying to embarrass me?  I asked myself.  Anyways he was going to pay for that silly move he made. Game on Shola Cooker.  I had thought of taking things slow before but now I just want to get it done and over with once and for all.

Neither Bruno nor Victoria spoke to me when we left the building.They must had noticed my foul mood and my driver was quick to catch on as he tuned down the volume of the music playing in the car.

If he'd look good at my party, today he looked better. How dare he look so handsome when I'm in pains.  All that would soon be history.

"Victoria, I need you to send out invitation to all the shareholders at C.L.L and make sure to have one delivered to the CEO's home "

"Yes Ms" Victoria nodded jotting down my instructions.

"Also I need at least three food critics, two bloggers and the contact of Shade Cooker's stylist. Can you arrange that" it was back pay time.

" yes Ms.  I'll get to work right away " So far Victoria seemed to adjust pretty well to the new environment and already knew so much despite being here for the first time but I was sure she started making research as soon as I offered her to come with me.

"Bruno?" He turned to face me at the back sit. Smiling in anticipation of his own assignment.

"Can you arrange for some boys who are willing to travel to the eastern part of the country?" He looked like he was thinking for a moment.

"That won't be a problem "

"Ok I'll let you know when and where " he nodded "one more thing Victoria, I wouldn't mind one social media influencer "

I couldn't help the growing smile on my face .

Not a long chapter I know, but this is just the calm before the storm.
