“wetin dos fish do u. See as u de throw dem any how.” Mike was telling Lara when she was transferring the fishes her grandpa brought back home angrily .she didn't answer him.
“no b u I de talk to? ”He asked, now he was getting angry because of her the way Lara has being behaving lately .
“Mk... ” that was what most people on the island called Mike and Lara hardly unless she's upset as she prefers his real name to his pet name. “jes leave me alone.. Since last week wei iyn say em go cum e never still cum” Lara told Mike what was disturbing her.
“who de cum.. Wait oo, no tell me say na my oga u still de expect ? haahaha”He couldn't believe his ears ...yes he knew what his Boss and Lara said to each other the other day since Lara told him every little detail of it. But he didn't know she was really expecting his Boss to visit her.

“No b Wetin I mean b dah. Y I go insult u na... Wetin I de try to say na all dis rich people no like people like me and u wei no get money, no b say u bad or anything ” He explained to her. Seeing Lara sad always makes him feel bad .
“na true u talk buh u know say I like Shola iyn fine ” she had this dreamy look in her eyes Mike knew she was crushing on his Boss since she wouldn't stop talking about him all week .
“ehehn Mk I bin wan ask u since wen u sabi speak grammar ” she curious she knew Mike wasn't educated just like her but when she heard him speaking good English .“abi u don de go skul nd u no tell me? ” she frowned at him.
“I tink say I bin tell you say for my work dem de teach how to speak proper English so we go fit communicate with customers well” Lara face brighten up she was happy for her friend.
“una customers na rich people baa ” Mike nodded his head smiling. “I wish say one day I go bcum rich.. No worry I go buy u car ” they both burst out laughing. Lara was always saying that to him and every single time they ended up laughing about it.
“y una de laff ” Lara's grandma came into sight. She was surprised seeing the both of them at home by this time of the day. She thought they'd already have gone to Banana Island.
“y una still de house ” she asked the both of them.
“Grandma Goodmorning” Mike greeted “me I no get work today na my off day nd Lara say she wan stay with me today ” He said
“ohk so y una cum de laff lyk Bush baby ” now she was the one laughing.
“Grandma I bin de tell Mk say if I get money I go buy am car iyn con de laff ” Lara told her grandma who smiled . She signalled for Mike to follow her.
