Third person's POV
Lara woke up with the sudden urge to throw up. Mike cleaned her up and made her go back to sleep.
They had spent the night under a bridge on the Main land of Lagos. Some gangsters tried harassing them but a guy helped them. He introduced himself as Bruno although his real name was Emeka. He helped them get a better place to stay although it was still under the bridge but it was safer than where they were before.
Lara had cried all night. Feeling nothing but hatred and anger. She was angry she couldn't save her Grandparents,she was angry at the fact that she loved Shola, she felt hatred for Shola and Shade for using her as a pawn in their game.
By the time she woke up again Mike was no where to be found. Lara began to panic thought Mike had left her like everyone else. Tears were already making it way to her eyes.
She searched everywhere for him but couldn't find him .she spotted him coming from the other side of the road, she didn't even think twice she ran towards him.
“Lara!!!!” Mike screamed.
Everything happened suddenly she didn't hear the car horn she just felt herself being thrown into the air and landing on the ground.
“help someone please help ”
“carry her up ”
“where's the nearest hospital? ”
“Lara abeg no close ur eyes ”
Lara was hearing different voices but she couldn't open her eyes .All she could see was darkness and it was slowly taking over her.

Mike was pacing back and forth praying to God to save Lara's life. He looked up and saw the couple whose car hit Lara looking at him. He wanted to blame them for what happened but he couldn't because he knew Lara wasn't looking at the road and they were nice to have brought her to the hospital. Some other people would have ran off.
The Doctor came out of the ER (emergency room) and went to meet the couples. Mike saw them talking like they knew the Doctor personally. The Doctor walked up to Mike and told him he could see Lara already as she was being transferred to a private ward.
“Doctor please tell me if she's OK " Mike said to the Doctor
“Gentleman you don't have to worry everything is fine with your wife. " Mike wanted to explain to him that he isn't her husband but the Doctor cut him short.
“I have explained everything to Chief over there. Have a nice day and congratulations ”
Mike didn't understand what he meant by congratulations but he brushed that aside and asked for Lara's room number then went to see her.
Upon entering the room Mike rushed to her side and hugged her . She flinched abit and smiled at him.
“Lara thank God say you de ok ,aw your body ?”
“Mk I de ok but my head still de pain me ” she touched her head which was wrapped up with bandage.
“ y u no look where u de go? ”
“na u I bin de find na.. Wen I wake up I no see u, I com fear say u don leave me go ” Lara said crying
“shhh y u go think like that, u know say we b family and family no de leave each other. I bin go buy food wei we go chop " Mike told her and hugged her again.
They heard footsteps coming then looked up to see the couples.
“uhmm " the woman cleared her throat “ I'm Bisola Animashaun and this is my brother Chief R F Animashaun ” she said. Mike was surprised.
“uhn my name is Mike and this is Lara. Sorry but I thought the both of you are married ”. The woman laughed while her brother just smiled.
“ No we are siblings but it's OK we get that alot” Chief was staring at Lara smiling like someone who found gold. Lara caught him staring and couldn't help but smile back at him.
“m sure you're worried about her but there's nothing to worry about. The Doctor made sure of that and my brother already settled the hospital bill ” Mike and Lara thanked her .
“I would also like to congratulates the both you. Mr Mike your wife is expecting ”she said smiling. Mike was shocked
“please come again ”
“I meant she's pregnant ” that did it cos Lara fainted.
“Lara Lara ”
“get the Doctor "
By the time Lara woke up again Chief and his sister were still there.
“Lara dear, how you feeling? ”Bisola asked. Lara just nodded her head in affirmative .
“Mike didn't you know that your wife is expecting? ” Bisola asked
“ No m not aware of that and m not her husband ” Mike said in a low voice. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, he knew Lara married Shola and married couples are expected to have intercourse but he just wanted to believe that Shola wasn't the father of the child Lara is carrying. He had hurt her enough and the last thing she needs is a constant reminder of his fake love for her.
“so if you are not her husband who is he?” Mike and Lara looked at each other and Lara started crying. The Animashaun siblings were looking at them wondering what was wrong .
“uhm Lara I don't know what is going on but I want you to know that my sister and I are here to help you through whatever it might be. ” Chief R.F Animashaun spoke up for the first time. “ I know this might sound like a bad time but I want to know where you got this pendant? ”
