"How did he find out?"
"Safiiya " I sighed. I called Mike immediately after the confrontation. I sat on my bed while Mike sat on the arm chair,leg crossed watching me.
"Tell me what exactly happened " He said gently. Mike had always had the ability to remain calm and sensible even in the most ugly situation.
"So I was at the office when Safiiya call came through. I couldn't hear what she was saying,i just heard different words that didn't make sense at that time.On getting home....."
Flashback
I dialed Safiiya's number and it started ringing. Just when I heard her answer saying "hello" I heard his voice
"Omolara Ajayi!!"
I couldn't breathe for a moment, I just stood still with my back facing him. At that moment Safiiya's words made sense

I always knew I couldn't hide the truth forever but at that moment I was caught off guard. I whipped around saw him walking towards me with anger and sadness. He had no right to be angry at me.
"What are you doing in my house Mr Shola " I wasn't avoiding the main issue but left to me I had nothing to discuss with him.
He gave out a dry laugh like he couldn't believe me " how long were you planning on hiding the truth?" He asked but I kept quiet.
"Why the whole acting?" He asked talking a step towards me " why did you you come back into my life?" I remained silent.
"Answer me God damn it" he shouted and I flinched a little. I saw bruno and other security guards approaching. I signalled to bruno to let us have some privacy. Everyone left the front yard leaving me with Shola.
"Answer me Lara" then I spoke up
"Don't you call me that" I said looking at him with hatred.
"Why , isn't that your name? You pretender!" then I saw red. I slapped him around the face. We both froze.i had never being violent. I snapped out of it quickly.
"You're calling me a liar? Who is the pretender between us Shola? You!!" I said poking his chest. " you're not just a pretender, you're a liar, you manipulative bastard. After all you did to me, you have some nerve coming to confront me!!"
"What did I do Lara? You're the one who faked her death" what did he do?
"What did you do Shola? Really!! You think I don't know that you used me to get even with your lover who by the way married your father." He kept quiet. Cat caught your tongue Shola? ".. you think I don't know that our marriage was faked. You think I don't know that you purposely left me there with Shade so she could make my life miserable " by now he was trying to hold me but I didn't let him, pushing him off me .
All the pain and agony I felt seven years ago felt fresh. My chest hurts from thinking about it. The inhumane treatment I faced.
"Lara let me explain. You don't understand " he was trying to speak but I wouldn't hear him.
"Explain what. You have nothing to explain! You betrayed me"
