Part 1
Most people wake up with either a smile or a frown depending on whether they are a morning person or not, some just wakes up with a straight face neither smiling nor frowning. But most times it's just all about waking up on the right side of the bed. I for one woke up on the Evil side of the bed, if there's anything like that.
It was the fiftieth anniversary of OLA group of companies. Fifty years of hard work and commitment by family. I woke up with a mischievous smile on my face, not because of the party but what was going to happen at the party.
I was up early and knew my kids were still asleep otherwise they would have come running into my room screaming for me to get up. I did my morning business and decided to hit the gym to burn a little calories before going on with my day. I had an indoor gym so I didn't have to leave the house.
As I approached the gym, I started hearing sounds coming from there. Here I was thinking I was the only one awake though I wondered who could be there. I thought it was probably one of my staffs cleaning up. The door wasn't closed entirely so as I got closer the sound turned into voices that I knew well and made me a bit surprised.
I opened the door to see Mike doing some push ups and Victoria sitting on the floor beside him laughing at something he said. Iwò ómo igbo yi sha (you this igbo boy ehn) I thought in my head ,mentally smiling.
If I didn't mention before, Victoria lives with me in the house hence her presence but Mike doesn't so he had lots of explanations to do. The pair finally noticed my presence to which Victoria nervously smiled saying Good morning while Mike had that look on his face. Don't ask what look because I honestly was trying not to think of it. I just raised my eyebrows at them. A habit I had suddenly became used to whenever I was amused or irritated. And right now I was amused by the way Victoria couldn't even meet my eyes.
"Good morning to you two" I said smiling at them both. " hope you slept well Victoria and you Mike since you decided to grace one of the beds in my hom... " Mike cut me short, stopping what he was doing.
"Morning to you too Tiwa, we slept well "I cleared my throat .
" ah ahm...we?"Victoria was now a Shade closer to tomato. What did I say
" I'm done here, so I should leave to start preparing. It's gonna be a long day " Victoria hurriedly moved pass me .
"That, it's gonna be " I walked onto the treadmill and started moving.
"Aje (witch)" Mike pointed at me and I laughed. I made sure Victoria was gone then turned my head to look at him while still walking on the treadmill. He was now punching the bag.
"You're really aiming for your britico kids, huh?" I said emphasising on the "britico".
"What do you mean Tiwa, you're crazy "he threw his face towel at me .
"What do you mean Tiwa.." I was mimicking him "why not explain why you're at my house by this time sharing tales from the moon light with my assistant when I didn't even see you yesterday.
"So I can't sleep over at my best friend's house anymore without being questioned?" Really Mike!!you gonna pull that card on me right now?
"You know no one is questioning you so why not stop with the melodrama and don't avoid the question " I stopped moving to drink water, waiting for his reply.
"We had sex..." the water splashed out of my mouth onto the ground. I choked abit coughing. I guess I had a thought in my head when I saw them but him saying that got me choking.
