It been three days since Shola asked Lara to marry him. The atmosphere in Lara's home was different, Lara had been crying nonstop,always keeping to herself. Her Grandpa was still adamant on his decision . Mike was in support of her Grandpa's decision. Her Grandma was caught in the middle, she knew Lara was making a big mistake jumping into marriage and more so the family she was getting married into. But at the same time she didn't want to see Lara hurt and sad, far from her usual self.
Lara wasn't talking to her Grandpa and Mike. She only spoke with her Grandma even though it not the way she use to.
“èku le ” Grandpa walked into the house holding a bowl of Fish. Lara didn't spare him a second glance. She ignored him completely .
Grandma saw what happened from the kitchen so she came out.
“ékâ bö ” she greeted her husband and collected the bowl from his hand. She turned to face her Granddaughter.
“ Lara śè oo rî Baba è nî ” Lara didn't answer her Grandma she just took the vegetables she was cutting and left her grandparents standing.
Grandpa sighed he knew Why she was so mad at him but he knew he was doing it for her own sake .
“é ma binu ” Grandma was apologizing on Lara's behalf “u know say na small gal de do her no vex ”
“me I no vex buh u know say na we cause dis tin ba ” Grandma didn't like where this conversation was going to.
“aw we take cause am? ”
“if only we bin allow her go skul, she for meet other people and she for sabi tinz. No Man go fit deceive her. ” Grandpa was regretting not educating Lara. He believed her lack of education and exposure is reason she's still very naive and innocent. And people like that are easy to manipulate just like How she is being deceived now by a Man.
“but u know y we bin no fit allow her.skul no de dis island and if we bin allow her leave dis island dem for find her and carry her leave us. Usef know say we no get money for skul fees "
Grandma had tears in her eyes as spoke “jes let her marry the Man and if iyn do her any how we go collect our daughter back ”
“hmm OK I go allow her marry the Man by the time iyn do her sumtin her eyes go open ”
“thank you, make I go tell her she go happy ”

“Mk Mk Mk ”Lara was shouting on the top of her voice Mike was surprised seeing her outside today since she had been crying inside the house all these days.

“I de very happy Mk.. Grandpa don agree for me to marry Shola” Lara was busy jumping in happiness for her to notice Mike was looking at her with a frown on his face .
“I de very happy ” she stopped talking when she saw Mike's face. “Mike Wetin happen why you de frown face na ”
