Since the day of the party my house became silent. I wasn't happy and my kids weren't happy. They weren't happy b'cos I stopped Shola from seeing them. They would hardly speak to me. I felt bad but I didn't want Shola in our lives. As far as i was concerned he was bad news.Right after the party i called Mike and told him about everything that happened. He was upset at Shola for not putting his girlfriend in place but he didn't agree with me depriving Shola of his children. In his words it was Shola and I that had problem not Shola and the kids but I didn't think so. If he comes over to see them it means we must see and I didn't want that. Plus I couldn't let my kids be without Shola without me being there.
Koala -Shola's restaurant was having problems. The portharcourt branch was still closed down for renovations and in the Abuja branch business wasn't going smoothly considering the rumours about them serving pork to customers. Leaving only the lagos branch running well but the financial problems of the Cookers was getting worse and the income from the lagos branch wasn't enough. The allegations against the Cookers were indeed true apparently C.L.L had been laundering money for several drug dealers and politicians. He was arrested some days back and all their accounts had been frozen. In a press release, Shola had stated he wasn't aware of the crime and wouldn't have been in support even if he knew. He seemed determined to clear the company's name rather than safe his father. I guess their was still bad blood between them. After all that was the reason he ventured out to have his own business. The only thing left for the Cookers was just the villa and I heard Shade was filling for a divorce. The leach couldn't survive without money.
My uncle Chief and Auntie sent for me and when I met with them. They were with our company lawyers saying we were going to testify against Chief Cooker in court.I got to know that Chief Cooker had once brought bad investors to OGC. Their plan was to use OGC to launder their ill gotten wealth. Are you confused. So was I until I got to know that Chief Cooker was a close friend of my father until my father realized his plot with the investors and they fought. Auntie B told me they had always suspected Chief Cooker had a hand in our plane crash years ago. That piece of information made me hate the Cookers the more. They literally were just after my family.
I had stopped going to the office for days, I just worked from home. Victoria usually goes to the office to sort out certain things for me. I finally got a nanny for my kids. I don't know if it was their sudden foul mood or what but they seemed to tolerate the new nanny. At least they weren't giving her much trouble.
I sat in my office, I had a video conference with my new German business partner Leon.
"Ja Dankeschön. Ich werde Meine sekretärin den vorschlag an sie faxen lassen (yes, thank you I'll have my secretary fax the proposal to you).
Mide and Dara entered my office laughing. I quickly ended the call b'cos I knew they wouldn't keep quiet"Einen schönen tag noch( have a nice day) . I ended the call and faced my cousins. Wondering what got them that excited.
"What'sup with you two "
"Haven't you heard?" Dara pulled one of the chairs in front of the table and sat while Mide made herself comfortable on my table.
"Heard what. What happened " I was lost.
"You mean you've not been online for days b'cos the internet is blasting with this gist " Mide laughed and started pressing her phone as if searching for something. True I hadn't been online. Where was the time. I was busy with the company expansion.
"Which gist?" I turned to look at Dara and she gestured to Mide who held her phone out for me to have a look.
"It's that oniranu Shade. You remember Otunba right?" Mide asked

Roman d'amour"Shola Cooker, don't you ever try to come at me like that again." She said with a cold voice glaring daggers at me "or else I'll be ready for you " and with that she smiled and left me perplexed. Wondering whether it was just about what I said or so...
