Leah pulled Clark's shirt up and went right back to kissing him. Clark held her tighter, closer, and kissed her just as urgently.
What were they doing? Leah didn't know. Leah didn't care. All she knows is that she needed this. She needed Clark. It's been so long and this... this is where she belongs.
She's finally back in his arms. She's finally home.
Leah stopped thinking altogether and just let herself feel. All her movements were instinctual. And it might be the same way for Clark because they were in sync.
She let Clark lead their movements until she noticed they were already on the bed and Clark was hovering on top of her.
She didn't even realized they had already shed most of their clothes, leaving her in just her underwear, and Clark in just his boxers.
They have never done this before; not to this extent. But at the moment, it didn't even matter.
For a moment they paused. And they were just looking at each other. Eye to eye, body to body, each of them feeling each other's breath on their faces with how close they are.
Clark had never looked at her this way before. This intense, this tender, this heated, but at the same time, this hurt.
And for a moment, Leah felt deep regret.
She was the one who hurt him.
But then, something changed in Clark's eyes.
And Leah realized what it was: doubt.
Again, Leah's heart clenched and she grew worried. She didn't like that. She didn't want to go back to how they were just earlier and out of fear, she just hugged Clark to herself, making him rest his weight on her.
"Clark, please." She said, not really knowing what she was pleading about.
"Leah..." He said, and he sounded scared, too.
Leah felt that pinch in her heart once more and she couldn't help but let out a sob.
How did they get here?? They were so in love before. They were so strong before.
Clark pulled away a little when he realized she had started crying.
This isn't what he wanted. He had tried teasing her earlier, and letting her know, lightly, how he had felt about what happened to them. But he didn't want to hurt her. He never wanted to hurt her even after everything that has happened between them.
"Leah..." He called, trying to keep his own tears at bay.
It was weird, she hurt him. She wrecked him. She broke his heart. For two years, he carried this heartache and anger for her. But now that he was watching her cry like this, because of him, it felt more painful than those two years.
"I'm so sorry, Clark, I--"
"Shhhhh." He said, trying to soothe her.
Even after all this time, it was just nature to Clark to try and comfort her when she needed it.
And that only made her sob more.
"Leah..." He called again, wiping away her tears.
And then, Leah placed her arms around his neck and pulled him back to her, kissing him urgently.
