just a drabble. sorry for the terrible title 😅

James really loves his fans' smiles.

When he started, he was really just thinking about a job that he could do, that could provide for his family. He never thought he'd fall in love with it. He never thought he would be this passionate about it.

It was a job that made him feel fulfilled, let him meet new friends, let him touch people's lives, and brought Nadine to him.

He loved it when he knows he made his fans smile. But just then, there was just one person he needed to see smile.

For the first time in a long while, he just wanted to forget about work just so he could go to Nadine at once.

They weren't together when he was told about what happened. Nadine had a shooting for Ulan and he had mall tours for Miss Granny.

And knowing Nadine, he was sure she would try very hard not to cry and to seem okay, but of course she wasn't.

He just wanted to get to her. He knew she needed him. And he needed her as well with him.

When the tour was finally over, James felt relieved. He tried calling Nadine at once but she wasn't answering. She was probably filming, so James sent a text instead, telling her he was on his way to her.

When he had arrived at the set, the crew were already packing. James thought that was fortunate. Filming is already done and they could go home.

He went straight to the tents and found Nadine's. As he entered, he could hear her laughing.

But when she finally saw him she stopped, and then gave him a small sad smile.

Her eyes were filled with different emotions and James hastily approached her.

When he was near enough, Nadine just worldlessly hugged him tight.

They just held each other for a moment.

James started to pull away, but Nadine wasn't letting go. He realized she had started crying.

James looked around and saw Barbie, looking at Nadine, also quietly crying.

"We'll be going now." He told him.

Barbie just nodded and hugged them both and then squeezed Nadine from the back.

James just held on Nadine as they walked, guiding her towards the car. Barbie helped him bring her things.

When they arrived at the car, Barbie immediately arranged Nadine's things in the backseat while James got Nadine settled on the front seat.

Her eyes were red as she apologized to both James and Barbie.

As James got on the driver's seat, Nadine told him she'd sleep for a bit.

Traffic was mercifully smooth and they got to their house in just over an hour. Nadine was still asleep then.

James parked the car inside their garage and then got off to go to Nadine's side. He gently woke her up. And he couldn't help but smile when she smiled as she saw him.

"We're home." He told her.

Nadine just nodded. She seemed tired as James opened the front door of their empty house. Lauren and Jack were both out and their helpers had all already gone home.

Nadine seems a bit out of it as she went straight inside and to the stairs. James, meanwhile, had gotten their things from the car.

When James went to their room, it was to see Nadine on their bed, quietly crying. James sighed and approached her.
