CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

The man held on a blank look before bringing the rod down hitting her hard on the shoulder .
Angelica yelped screaming so loud that Nicklaus sped to see what was happening .
Without a second thought, he started punching the man but the color of his eyes said something else. They were so white that you would think that he was dead already , but he knew better .

Nicklaus made sure to knock him out before turning to help Angelica .
Her shoulder was almost healed by the time he looked at her but she was pale like she had seen a ghost .
"Angie , are you okay?"

Angelica heard his voice but she couldn't bring herself to look at him. She was well aware of the others watching her . How was she supposed to face them especially Nicklaus and tell them that she found her mate and he hit her.

She looked at him lying down and she realized she wasn't ready for two men to start fighting over her. She wasn't ready to choose between the two because even though she had fallen for Nicklaus, Angel had already fallen for this guy and her soft whimpers could be heard at being hit by her mate.

She spoke, eyes down cast, her shoulders sagging in a manner to suggest that she had given up and let fate decide what it held for her.
"He's my mate!"

She couldn't look at Nicklaus as she could literally hear his heart breaking , Trey was more than shocked at the same time angry that she had been hit by her own mate, Elijah was also shocked pitying his brother for the competition that was about to begin knowing well that Nicklaus knew nothing about treating people right .

"Could you please repeat what you've just said !" Trey said

"He's my mate!"

"How ? I mean not how but how ?" He questioned throwing his hands in a manner trying to demonstrate his point making everyone turn their attention to him.
"What? Why are you looking at me like I have grown a second head?"

"Because I warned you before that your sister is a hybrid and she has two soulmates. She is the only one who can choose whoever she can have and I have no problem with that as I said earlier ." Nicklaus answered

Angelica looked up when he said these words. And his face still held the emotions from when they were discussing this topic . She could see he was breaking inside and her heart went out to him.

"And if it makes you happy , he is compelled " Nicklaus said

"What does that mean?"

"It means that his mind has been forced to do something that he didn't agree with but after the compulsion he has no choice because his mind can't cooperate with him." He explained to her.

At this Elijah gasped. His face becoming more serious than his usual self
"It is only a pure blood vampire that can compel another supernatural and our family is the only pure blood left. All the others are mixed blood so if I narrow down to that it leaves me with me, Nicklaus , mother, father and our grandfather who is bedridden."

They nodded before realization hit them .
"That means that one of your family members is working with the rogue Alpha and he knows everything the family member knows. Exactly how many people know Angie's real identity ?" Trey spoke

"It's only us and dad. He made a promise to your mother to keep you safe until you fulfill your destiny." This was Elijah .

Angelica knew it was time to wage war against the rogue Alpha but the question was how? She had no warriors, no allies, no nothing except for her brother and her mates if at all the other one was removed from the compulsion .

A dry and tired cough brought them back to their senses remembering that they had a woman to save.

Trey looked at his disheveled mother and tears stung his eyes. Her eyes that were always full of life whenever she sang to him were closed and thinner than he remembered. Her beautiful dark ebony hair had become so long and so full of knots with unknown things. Her glass hour figure was reduced to bare bones. And her expensive perfume was reduced to a strong foul stench that almost made him want to vomit.

Regardless of how she looked and smelled Trey finished untieing her easily lifting her into his arms and started running towards his kingdom.

The others followed closely shouting for him to stop but he didn't want to hear them. All he wanted was for his mother, their mother, to wake up and sing for him like she used to, to tell him everything will be alright after hurting himself and all the things mothers do with their children . His only motivation being a picture of him, Angelica and their mother having a happily ever after in his mind .

Elijah who had to use his vampire speed to catch up on them because he was carrying an unconscious Angelica's second mate observed his brother who was beginning to have the same characteristics he had sixteen years ago. He knew Angelica had two mates but neither had expected them to meet so soon but he vowed not to let Nicklaus turn to be that same person again .
She had changed him even if he didn't want to accept it and she didn't know about it .

Think of the devil.....
Her voice brought him back from his reverie
"And what are you going to tell the people?" She asked stubbornly

"Nothing but the truth !"
