CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

"Klaus, she's awake and wants to talk to you." Elijah tapped him on the shoulder .

"I don't think I'm ready to face her !"

"Just go and talk to her, she's been asking for you " Elijah persisted until Nicklaus started walking towards her new room.

As he was outside the door he could hear her begging her brother
"Please let him go !" She pleaded

"He hurt you and I don't act kindly to people who hurt my only sibling !" Trey harshly whispered

"He was compelled Trey , please let him go he didn't do it on purpose ," she continued

"But...

"No buts Trey for crying out loud let him go or else I won't speak to you for a very long time!" She stubbornly said

"That's blackmail!"

"And I don't care !"

"Okay !" Trey said clearly giving in .

"And please call me Klaus . I miss him !" She finished

Nicklaus stood transfixed on the spot. Was she now going to reject him because she clearly loved the other guy .
"Uh ! I wish I hadn't removed the compulsion !" He thought to himself
"You are a good guy Klaus that's why you did it !" He thought he heard a voice say in his mind.

As he raised his hand to knock on the door it flew open to reveal Trey looking like he was having an internal battle.

"She wants to see you!" Trey said before walking away probably to let the bastard free.

There was a very uncomfortable tension between them none willing to break it and start a conversation .
"Hey !" Trey finally said

"Hello ."

And just like that they kept quiet each lost in their own thoughts.
"You know just the thought of being here with you is what kept me strong , the mere picture of us together as a family made me fight to come back to you . I wonder if it's the same for you Klaus is it?"
Nicklaus felt guilty for having doubted her but then people change and maybe she would just change eventually and realize he wasn't the right man for her.

As if his prayers were received and answered, the bastard stormed in going for her and locking his lips with hers.

Angelica felt Angel take over forcefully and as she fought to take control of her body back, Angel returned the kiss with Kieran deepening it so fast as Nicklaus stood there watching as the two continued kissing.
A few minutes before she had told him the thought of their future is what made her fight but now Angel was clearly showing him that she had chosen the other one and as his words registered in her mind
.. you have to choose him, when it comes to me everyone chooses the other one so stay away...
And with all her might she fought Angel throwing her to the back of her mind and blocking her completely before throwing Kieran off her and turning to Nicklaus .
His expression made her want to cry. It was so cold , so cold that she didn't want to look into his eyes a second time.

"Klaus.. I ..I ...

"Save it Angelica ,it's not like I hadn't expected it !, He said calmly, too calm for the scenario that had just happened before him.
She felt hurt by the way he talked to her and the way he called her with her full name.

"Get out !" She ordered Kieran

"What have I done ? I just kissed my mate. And what's his problem huh ?"

Before Angelica could respond , Nicklaus gave him a mighty punch as he fell down with a thud breaking a few bones.
"I'm her other mate and things were going on well with us until you showed up so just get the hell out.

"But she kissed me in front of you but didn't bother telling me that she had another mate so what does that say ? It means she cares for me more than she does you and she didn't want to break my heart that why she said nothing about your existence !" Kieran snapped

"Stop it Kieran !" Angelica growled "you and I both know that it's my wolf that kissed you after forcefully taking control and if you try kissing me again without my consent I swear I'll do something we will both regret !"

"Oh really! And what does your wolf have to say about this because it's clear that she has already chosen me !" He addressed Angelica before turning to Nicklaus "And you, you just let a girl fight your own battles while you stand there saying nothing !" He mocked

"I don't argue with people of your standards and I sure as hell won't compete with you for her love. If she chooses you then its fine with me and if she chooses me then you'll have to be fine with it too !" He replied .

"The hell I'll be fine . I'm not going down without a fight and even if she chooses you I'll still fight until she's mine vampire! Until she's mine, mark my words," Kieran said before exiting shooting a smile towards Angelica .

Long after his departure they just sat there enjoying each other's company.
"Angel why did you do that !"

"I was just showing Nicklaus where I stand !"

"And who told you that I will leave Nicklaus and choose Kieran?" Angelica asked clearly annoyed

"You will do it for me unless you want to become selfish !"

"What do you mean by selfish. The only selfish person here is you Angel," she snapped

"If you were smart you'd realize that Nicklaus doesn't have a wolf and I need another wolf to love me but in this case you're the only one whose going to get love and that is being selfish Angelica Reed ,"

Angelica now understood her.
"Being on opposite sides with your inner being is so hectic !" This was her last thought as sleep consumed her completely but not before hearing him say
"I love you so much Angie . " Before he kissed her forehead and everything went dark .
