CHAPTER TWENTY

Angelica opened each door until she reached the last one.
The man inside looked very familiar .
And then it clicked, he was the man who had tried to torture her but ended up arguing with Trey thus his current situation.
He had a glint in his eyes that was quickly replaced by pity.

Angelica swallowed hard.
"You afraid little girl!" He jeered laughing so loudly.

"Trey!" She called out
"This is yours to deal with "

And with that, she walked to the others and addressed them.
"Today, Selene goes against his own father but again today the chosen one fights for his people .!"

They cheered her on as she led them outside the dungeons .
The guards were ready to pounce on each one of them but when they saw Trey they moved aside.

Eyes followed them as they walked towards the Alpha's throne.

"What did you do to him bro?" She asked along the walk

"He refused to join us and since he had a direct mindlink with my father, I just injected him with wolfbane." He replied nonchalantly

"And how does that stop the mindlink?"

"It weakens you and your wolf so it's like you become a human . But the effects wear off in a week's time  and hopefully by then things will be done for." He smiled at her.

"I hope so too."

The rest of the walk was filled with a comfortable silence each lost in their individual thoughts.

The throne room was empty and so was his office. His scent was very weak meaning he had left days ago and they had been too busy planning their strategies to realize his absence .

"Where could he have gone ?" Trey thought to himself.

"Trey, I think we should inform the other rogues just in case their alpha fed them lies like he had been doing.

Trey nodded and commanded the Messengers to go through every village spreading word that their future Alpha wanted to talk to them immediately .

After some time people started gathering outside the throne room. Most of them looked so arrogant so vicious so animalistic but their eyes spoke otherwise. Her mother had taught her to know how someone feels even if they try hiding it by looking into their eyes.

When she was sure that almost everyone was present she told them the exact thing she had told the prisoners promising them freedom, democracy and a brighter future .

And the same questions were asked the same answers given and an opponent to fight. She could see Brian smirking as her opponent sneered at her and in the end he was beaten up to a pulp.

Trey ordered those who did not want to join the chosen one to vacate the kingdom in less than ten minutes because their Alpha was outside the kingdom.
"For now I am the Alpha and if you can't follow my rules then you better vacate and follow your dictatorial Alpha seeing that he is outside the walls. And if you won't be out then death shall find you and you will have no one to blame but your own self !!"

To this he received various growls, and snarls before people started disappearing one by one until a smaller number was left consisting of mainly children and women.

Angelica sighed when she saw the number left. Even though she had expected this kind of outcome, it still hurt.

Sagging her shoulders she looked at Nicklaus . Ever since she found her other mate she had become very distant never at all smiling at her. He only spoke when necessary only giving single words not enough to sustain a conversation .
And even now, he was intentionally avoiding her gaze which made her very mad.

Angelica walked up to him making sure she didn't break looking at him. When she was almost next to him, he made to walk away but she jerked his hand crushing his chest on to hers.
She could feel him tense as his eyes darkened with lust.
"What.....what are you doing ?" He breathed out finally

"What do you think am doing ?" She fired back batting her eyelids seductively that he found it hard to resist .

She knew the effect she had on him and he also affected her in the same manner but right now she had to suppress all that if she was to reach out to him.

She held his hand quickly pulling him inside the throne room in a corner pressing her body into him , brushing her lips on his teasingly.
"Come on, please kiss me." He groaned

"Why have you been avoiding me?" She asked

This question seemed to bring him back to his senses as he tensed yet again pushing her off him slowly before looking away.
"Klaus please talk to me "

He refused to look at her, to show his emotions.
"I managed to release your mate from the complusion !"

"Whaat!? When!? How!?" These questions were out of her mouth before she could stop herself.

"I did it today and I did it for you. It's only a pure blood vampire that can compel another supernatural so it's only another pure blood who can release the compulsion and you need to talk to him before we start the war."

"How is this related to you avoiding me Nicklaus Mikaelson?" She growled

"Because I don't want to be too attached, Because I don't want to fall too deep knowing very well you will choose him.. you have to choose him... They always choose the other one when it comes to me.... So stay away, it will hurt less that way!" He almost shouted before walking away leaving her shocked.
