CHAPTER TEN

That night Angelica decided to visit her mother but the Alpha decided to do the dungeon patrol on his own so she could not be able to see her.

In the middle of the night, she heard quiet sobs that belonged to a woman . Even though her mother was on the other side of the barrier , she knew it was her.
"Don't do what you are thinking girl . Your problem is acting before thinking completely unaware of the consequences. And if you were smart you would realize that this is a trap so go back to sleep!"

"So now I can't do anything without your opinion on it ?" Angelica asked her wolf.

Angel just snarled and retreated to the back of her mind blocking her out again .

Angelica sighed getting used to her actions over the days. Maybe one day they would get along.

Just as she curled herself to sleep, she felt a presence on the other side of her room. And with the powerful aura it exuded , she concluded that it was the Alpha but it disappeared quickly she thought it was just an imagination.

The following day she waited for Trey until it was almost dark and he still had not come.
This became her goal but Trey did not come again for three consecutive days. So she resorted to calling him. She told one of the guards that there was an important issue that needed to be addressed by the Alpha's son and within minutes Trey ran into the dungeons with a knife.
"What is it with knives!" She wondered .

"What is it Angie? Is there any danger ?" He asked breathlessly cautiously looking around .

"I waited not for you for three days where have you been?" She asked

He looked at her and let his hand drop.
"I've been on a personal mission to find my brother and have a talk."

Angelica wringed her hands nervously avoiding eye contact.

"Why are you behaving strangely?" He asked yet again

"I need to talk to you about that ."

"Okay. Go ahead."

"Could we please go to an area where no one can hear us because I know all the people in the dungeons are just waiting to hear what I am going to say and it's really private ." She said confidently

Trey took her hand in his and led her forward towards his room and when he was sure no one was watching he closed the door making sure no one could eavesdrop

"The room is soundproof so go ahead and talk.'

"I happen to know where your mother is and she needs your help, maybe afterwards she could tell you who your brother is ."

He looked at her and laughed so hard until tears could be seen in his eyes. As it died out he turned to her and asked
"And how do you know it's her if you never saw her at all or it's a trap isn't it?"
He was getting paranoid but she decided to tell half truths

"Do you know what is in the ladies prison that nobody goes to ?'

He shook his head and answered
"My father said that his god that gives him the power is in there and anyone who sees it must be sacrificed to appease it otherwise it will weaken him and the kingdom ."

"It is a lie . Come to me at midnight when no one can see you and tell the guards to wait outside , I'll just show you how your father has been feeding you lies, I wonder to what extent . Today you might just get your questions answered ."

And with that Angelica walked out on him hoping he would come to her .

That same day, another man was slaughtered and a promise to increase the number of people being killed was given .
She counted her days and realized that she had been away from home for two and a half weeks and that meant that she had a month and two weeks to clear everything up before goinh back home and joining college as she had promised her parents . She really hoped things would go back to normal after she fulfilled the said prophecy.

She was brought back to reality when the guards roughly threw in two prisoners who looked very familiar but their heads were covered in bags so that they could not see .

Trey walked in before they were thrown into the cells.
"I smelt new vampires . Where did you find them?"

"We found them roaming around the perimeter walls and caught them." One guard answered .

"What are vampires doing all the way here when their town is far away from here. Remove those bags we need to observe them.,"

Just as the bag fell down, Angelica gasped looking at them as they smirked

"Not happy to see us ?' they chorused

"You again !" She finally said
