CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Angelica closed her eyes once again, willing herself to communicate with the trees
"Hello there.."

Surprisingly only one answered while the rest went silent .
"To what pleasure do we owe this summoning by the master !"  It said

"Did you see any woman around who looks exactly like an older version of me but is very weak?"

"Yes master. I'll take you to the last place we saw her."

Angelica told the others what she found out and Trey decided to ask his father's spy to find out if he was on his side it he was leading them into a trap.

Coincidentally the spy said he saw the Alpha take her outside the walls.

They decided to plan their next move. Although they did not know how to start but with the help of nature , they were sure to get to her.

"Hang in there mother , we are coming for you," Trey promised.

With Trey's help , they sneaked outside unnoticed and quickly started following the trees as they bent towards the way they were supposed to go. They ran through the woods until they came to a clearing .
To a human , it would be a normal clearing for a picnic but being werewolves and vampires, they could sense that something was very wrong.

The air smelled of fresh blood even though nobody was around in sight but they could sense the presence of several people .
The soil around the clearing looked like it had been dug and replaced if observed clearly and the presence of dark magic.

This spelt danger but even through the various scents scattered in the woods, Angelica smelt her mother's scent. It was very distinct just like hers , strawberry. This only meant that her rescue mission had been leaked or it had been a trap all along.

"Whatever happens, don't show them your powers . Let them believe you haven't realized the power you hold and that they can mould you into their own way, letting you on their plan before destroying them once and for all." Angel spoke for the first time since they argued and Angelica couldn't help the smile that stretched on her face.

"Thanks Angel . And even though we keep on fighting, I hope we will get along some day ."

Angel just chuckled retreating to the back of her mind as always but this time  she didn't block Angelica , maybe it was time to start being civilised with her and not sulking like kids all the time  .

Angelica looked at her mate, her only wish being that they get out of all these alive. Same thoughts ran through her head when she looked at her brother , they still has a lot to catch up on. She hoped all of them including Elijah would go unscathed but these are only wishes .

Master! This clearing seems off. It looks like it was dug and the soil was just placed on top. Oh! And the woman you were looking for has been tied up to one of my children but it's also a trap.

Angelica only nodded , afraid that speaking would give her away even though it was only her who could understand that language .

She bent down to look at the soil and sure enough , just as her suspicions and the mother tree's warning, it was true.
She saw some ants busy looking for food and quietly asked them to see whatever was going on down there .
They returned after a while
Master! They seem to be cells that you can't get out once you are in. Several people are in there with weapons so you have to be careful. We are always at your service , all you have to do is call .

And with that, they disappeared with the food they had collected.
Angelica informed the others and they nodded in agreement .This had to be done and the far they had come, there was no turning back.

Angelica decided to follow a small trail that ended up reaching a tree with her mother tied to it.
She was far more worse than the last time she had seen her and she knew that if medication was not applied as soon as possible then she would loose her for good.
Her lips were so dry that they had split up severally. Her body was too tired ready to give up but Angelica was not going to let her give up.

Ignoring the warning bells going off in her head, she rushed forward only to have an arrow whizz past her hitting the tree right next to her.
She started working on the ropes , hoping to save her mother even if it meant loosing her life .

When she was almost done, she felt a presence behind her turning so fast to find a man with a big rod held high ready to hit her hard on the head but when their eyes met , they both froze.

Angel was twirling around in her mind , clearly very excited  muttering only one word .

MATE!
