CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

"Darling when are we going back home since you have already finished whatever you were supposed to do!" Harriet asked Angelica the next day as they walked through the villages to salvage what was left of it.

"Are you kidding me? My daughter is going nowhere with you. She belongs here and she stays here because the danger has been eliminated !" Clarissa growled

"Excuse me but she is my daughter and she's going with me back home okay ! Angie darling where do you want to go?"Harriet asked knowing well that Angelica would choose her.

"It doesn't matter what she wants. This is about where she should be okay. Or are you going to choose them over me because I wasn't there for you all those years huh? " Clarissa snapped turning to Angelica who looked away

"Stop it the both of you! Can we talk about this when we get back to our house please . Let's check the damages first then we'll solve this !"

"We're not waiting Angie . Just say what you want and get it done with. It's the same words that you'll tell us so just say !" Clarissa said

"Don't make me choose mother !" Angelica begged

"Just say what needs to be said ."

"I'm sorry mother but I want to go back to my normal life. I want to go to college and graduate. I want to get my own job and pay my bills. I want to have friends and do silly things. I want to have a normal relationship, the dates the fights the passion and a wedding at the end. And I won't have all of that if I stay here !"She concluded

"What about the kingdom ?" Clarissa asked containing her pain

"We've talked with Trey and he has decided to take over as the Alpha. We'll go to all the packs affected by Watson's rule and help them out before meeting all the other Alpha's to sign a peace contract . I'll just be there..... in case an emergency from the supernaturals arises I'll step in ." Angelica answered

"Okay.. so you're choosing them over me !"

"What no, I .....

"It's okay I get it okay ! I wasn't there for you but they were there all through . They gave you all the parental love and all the comforts of life that I never did. So it's really understandable that you chose them. I'll just stay away okay... " Clarissa whispered harshly before walking away to the opposite direction that led to their house.

Angelica was tempted to go after her but decided otherwise. She needed to understand her reasons.

She hadn't had time to talk to either Kieran or Nicklaus but both of them were on good terms which surprised her because before they were always one ach other's necks.

Sighing she continued going through the villages and in each one of them welcomed her.

When she was done , Harriet talked to her about the earlier incident
"Darling you know you don't have to do this if you're not sure about it,"

"I know mama. And I'm not choosing you over her, I just want to fulfill my dreams and still lead my people. I can always visit her on weekends or when I'm free and she can do the same. I'll give her time then explain to her I know she's been through a lot and her daughter refusing her is not what she needs right now!" Angelica answered right before Kieran and Nicklaus took her for a walk into the woods.

They walked through the woods laughing at silly jokes but Angelica could sense there was something else that they wanted to say to her.

"What do you guys want to tell me ?" She asked when neither could ask her except throw glances at each other.

"Angelica you know that the war is over and you told the both of us that we'll talk about us after the war but you've made no effort to talk about it so we've decided to come and do it ourselves ." Nicklaus said after a while of staring at Kieran .

"So what are you trying to say Klaus ?" Angelica asked knowing the answer too well and dreading it.

" Klaus and I have talked and decided that there is no need for us to keep quarrelling over you. So we agreed that after the war we would ask you to choose and we would be okay with any of your choice Angie ." Kieran supplied

"I hope you consider me while choosing !" Angel also said

"Did all of you decide to make me make choices today ? First my mum and now the both of you?" She retorted annoyed

"Come on Angelica. Don't you think you need to release one of us. If you choose me then Kieran deserves to find another love. And if you choose Kieran I also deserve to find another love. I can't stand seeing him kiss or even hold you and he can't stand the same so please just let one of us go !" Nicklaus begged

"Did you for once think that I chose none of this huh?" Angelica asked tears threatening to fall down

"And neither did we Angie ,"

"I can't believe the both of you !" Angelica replied

She turned and started running completely unaware of the person watching them in the shadows. She ran so fast completely ignoring their call for her to stop .

"Angelica stop there is a......

That's what she heard before she was thrown roughly on the ground and the person behind her fell down on his knees groaning loudly in pain as the other ran past her deeper in the woods.

She turned and saw him on the ground  an arrow lodged in his heart as he struggled to speak

"Pl.... Ple..ase. I  wa..nt. You. To... Be .. happy...okay ? Do..nt cry ... Me okay..?" He stammered

"Sssshhh.. stop talking. We'll save you okay. Just hold on !"

"He... Really ..lo..ves you only tha..t he ha..s a weird.... Way of sho...wing it.. give him a... Cha..nce.. okay?"

He struggled against her and then became still at the same the other one came dragging a man he realized as the one who wanted to torture her on her first day. He was supposed to be in the dungeons but someone must have freed him.
She snapped his head killing him instantly before turning to her still mate and letting put a loud wail.

He was dead because of her. Maybe if she had listened and stopped running he wouldn't have sacrificed his life for hers.

He was gone!
