CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

Angelica woke up to a cramped body. She found herself standing straight which shocked her considering that she  just woke up.
Turning her head, she was met with spikes directly facing her and if she dared make a slight move they would find themselves in her flesh. She turned her head the other side and she found the same.

Then she recalled the ant's words
"Master, they seem to be cells that once you are in you can't get out,"

"I see that you are already awake, took you long enough!" A gruff voice said in amusement.

Her throat was so dry she couldn't afford a retort. She kept quiet because whoever was speaking was still in the shadows but she identified it as the rogue Alpha's.

"So today miss know it all doesn't have a retort comment!" He laughed at this before continuing
"How did you expect to defeat a man who has been planning victorious wars since time immemorial when you don't even know who you really are? You don't know you have powers in you because you don't know you are a hybrid !"

Angelica almost smirked at this but widened her eyes in mock surprise so that he wouldn't know she already knew this but.

"And I'm going to help you discover it! They say you either make them too happy or too sad and their emotions will showcase their power. And when I finally mould you to work for me then with you by my side I will be undefeated and not even the gods can stop me!" He thundered before disappearing into the shadows like he had come.

She didn't know for how long she stood there without moving but the thought of Nicklaus gave her hope . She knew she had to fight for that broken man who never believed in himself .

Her thoughts were cut short by his presence .
"Time to begin baby !" He squealed.
"And I shall begin with the good memories !"

With that he formed a mental picture bringing her mind into his fantasy as he showed her her moments with Klaus as they kissed as they looked at each other even though it was short and it warmed her heart. She had to fight for him
"Don't you show your power Angelica Reed ! Control your emotions because I'm trying over here to control them but you're not trying !"  Angel growled

She fought to keep her power at bay and after it was over she would have slumped down if she wasn't being surrounded by spikes.

The rogue Alpha Mr Watson looked shocked but was quick to hide it.
"Looks like you don't have good memories that can make you show your power. Let's try the other side!"

And without warning she was thrown into another memory

She saw her running freely in the woods a wide smile on her face but suddenly she was sorrounded by mean looking men. The leader stepped out and Angelica recognized him as a younger version of the rogue Alpha. Looking closely she widened her eyes  when she recognized the woman as her mother. She watched as he raped her over and over again as his followers held her down .
She could feel her pain as each thrust tore her apart until she stopped struggling and lay there .

She watched as he forced her to say she was his mate and how he forced her to reject her real chosen mate.

He watched clearly satisfied as he saw the expression on her face. She was almost breaking and making her powers known and after showing her the many times she had treated her mother badly, he decided to throw the last memory that would break her wolf and make her vulnerable to suggestions.

They saw as Kieran raised the rod high and brought it down on their shoulder.

Angel whimpered but still held on knowing very well this was the final blow. She managed to stop Angelica from giving in because she was shaken with her mother's ordeals.

Watson was not pleased at this and did not even try hiding it.
"Let's see for how long will you play strong !" He barked hitting a button that made the spikes curve in on her biting into her flesh as they got deep. She shouted but refused to give in.

He banged his fists on the bars before returning the spikes to the exact position they were before and existing evidently enraged.
She heard things being thrown everywhere and he knew he had gotten the big bad alpha riled up and even in her pain she managed to afford a smirk.

She could feel something climbing up her back but she couldn't risk turning after knowing what the spikes could do to her.
It climbed until it was almost in her ear
Master! You didn't call but I know you need help should we set you free?

She recognized that as the leader of the ants and refused to speak knowing that the rogue was somewhere listening even if he couldn't understand the animal language.
So she answered in a single word which didn't look suspicious
No!

She knew the right time to escape was not now.
