CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

"Klaus could you please call your father and tell him to come over ," Clarissa requested

"Aunt Clarissa don't you think it will be very suspicious if the two most wealthiest tycoon families disappeared with no trace ? First it was us and now the Reeds  if my father follows then all the Mikaelsons and the Reeds will have disappeared and you know very well the scandal my family caused years back " Nicklaus replied

"I don't care, it won't be for long I just want him to know a few truths just in case I don't make it alive when the real war begins "

"Okay, I'll just make a call and see if he can come ."

Nicklaus dialed his father's number and after two rings he picked up.
"Mr Mikaelson speaking ,"

"Dad !"

There was silence on the other side before his voice croaked with emotions
Son is that you? Where are you son? I've been worried sick about the both of you, are you safe, did you keep her safe Nicklaus answer me please !"

Nicklaus felt like crying, his father was the only person who never dared choose someone else over him.
"Dad we're fine and she's also fine. Actually the reason why I called is because aunt Clarissa wants you to come over because apparently there is something important that you need to hear from her ."

"You know the Reeds just disappeared and the press is on my ass thinking I know something so if I also disappear then they'll go insane with absurd theories on the news and you know that . And your mother also disappeared without trace two days after you left. "

Clarissa whispered to Nicklaus telling him to tell his father that it won't take long.
"She says it won't take long ?"

He sighed before replying
"Where are you?"

"The rogue kingdom! "

"What the hell !! That's a two day journey and how the fuck did you get there, you know how dangerous it is?" He was shouting now

"Dad we both know that if you use you use your vamp speed rather than the human vehicles then you'll be here in less than two hours so do that !"

"Okay fine. I'll be there ," he finally gave in before hanging up

Clarissa looked at Nicklaus and asked him to call everyone to come to Angelica's room.
Making sure Nicklaus was out of earshot, she dialed a number and a squeky woman's voice filled the room.
"What do you want? Meanwhile how does defeat taste like Clarissa? "
And one could feel contempt coming from her

"Let's finish this once and for all bitch !!" She shot back

"Wow ! So my little innocent Clarissa now wants to fight me. When did you get this bold ? Anyway tell me where and when and I'll be there to beat your stupid ass to finally get rid of you for good !"

"Today , in three hours time meet me in the woods outside the kingdom !"

"Okay ! Let's fix this!"

Clarissa headed towards Angelica's room as she overheard her talking to her foster parents . She was so happy laughing genuinely at everything they said .
"I promised to come back before college starts but you came looking for me instead , you couldn't wait now could you?" She laughed at her own joke before her foster parents  chuckled.

Clarissa felt a knot tighten in her heart.
That should have been me!  She thought over and over again as she felt herself breaking down .
She rushed to the washroom and locked herself inside crying her eyes out at the pain pf hearing her daughter call other people mama and papa, and even though she knew this even though she thought she had accepted this and moved on the truth is she desired to have her daughter's love to laugh with her over silly jokes, to have late night chats with her , to see her come home crying because of her first heartbreak but it seems she was getting none of that.

Life had really been cruel and unfair to her but the thought of her Selene had kept her strong and she persevered everything in the hope of another chance with her.

Her silent sobs attracted Trey's attention and he walked towards the washroom .
"Mum , are you okay in there ?"
No answer
"Mum please talk to me.....

The door opened to reveal a tired looking Clarissa , his mascara ruined and her eyes bloodshot.
She rushed to Trey hugging him tightly as she sobbed again and again
"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not now "

After calming down they went to Angelica's room and found all the others inside .
"Mum, are you okay?" Angelica asked with concern

"I'm fine baby, how are you feeling today?" She answered quickly changing the topic to her.

"I feel like I need to do some thorough exercises because my body is all cramped up "

"After this Trey will teach you all the moves your enemy knows and by the end of today you should have mastered all of them baby ."

She sighed opening her arms for her
"Come here mum ," she whispered and everyone caught on her voice cracking meaning there was something else that had made her do it.

As she hugged her she whispered
"I know bits of your story mum. He threw me into those memories mum. Am so sorry you had to go through that ! No one deserves what you went through . And now I'm here and no one will dare raise a hand on you mum, I promise !"

Clarissa removed herself from the hug overwhelmed with emotions .
"Thank you Angie ,"she said gazing into her eyes.

Turning to the others she addressed them
"I want to tell you a revelation about me, about the rogue Alpha, about your mother Elijah and your father and that's why I requested his presence . I would have told you myself but I want you to hear from the horse's mouth in two hours time so get ready for the moment of Truth ."
