Chapter 15.

The next day, Yuki and Soul were walking up the steps of the DWMA, Yuki wearing a jacket over her arms and wearing jeans. “I don’t wanna go…” Yuki mumbled making Soul chuckle but he just kept walking next to her.

“Yeah, neither do I but I show up anyways. Maka used to make me go but now if we both didn’t show up she’d kill us.” Soul said making Yuki groan in annoyance but then once they got up the steps they walked into the school. “Is Professor Stein going to be teaching or do you think he is still hurt?” Soul asked as they walked but Yuki stopped and closed her eyes. “Yuki?” He asked but she kept her eyes closed for a moment.

“He’s here, and he’s in the classroom.” Yuki said then opened her eyes and she started to walk again, Soul walking next to her. “So he’s teaching today, unless Lord Death needs to talk to him, then Spirit will teach.” Yuki said but as she said it and they got to the classroom Professor Stein walked out.

“Ah, Yuki. Sorry about before.” Stein said giving his smile that he gave sometimes. “I didn’t mean to go crazy.” Stein said making Yuki look up at him.

“Stein I know that smile too well.” Yuki said crossing her arms making Soul look between the two then he sighed. “but, I can tell you are sorry, even if you are forcing that damn stupid smile.” Yuki said making Soul flinch but Stein chuckled.

“Yeah… I got to go see Lord Death. Spirit is going to be teaching class so good luck. Speaking of which, Soul, you and Izaya switched seats. I heard you guys all switched partners.” Stein said making Soul and Yuki both nod but Stein just chuckled shaking his head slightly and walking away. Yuki looked at Soul then she walked into the classroom and up to her seat. Soul moved seats so he was sitting next to Yuki in Izaya’s old seat. Yuki pulled out her sketchbook and flipped through the pages.

“Wait.” Soul said grabbing her hand to stop her making Yuki flinch but she looked at him. Soul lightly grabbed the pages and flipped back a drawing and flinched. “That was when we met at the park.” Soul said seeing that it was Yuki on the swing, and Soul was leaning against the pole holding up the swing set with an angry look on his face, but his cheeks were also shaded in with slight pink. “You remember details that well?” Soul asked as he looked at the picture and looked at his beanie. Yuki looked at the drawing then closed her eyes tightly.

“I’m trying to remember… anything else… and I can only remember more details about that day, nothing else.” Yuki said her eyes closed, then she slowly opened them and sighed shaking her head in annoyance. “Nothing.” Yuki added, she then put her head down on her desk with a muffled groan. Soul looked at her for a second then he chuckled slightly.

“I thought we told you, that you didn’t need to force the memory on yourself.” Soul said and he pulled her sketch book from under her hands. Yuki lifted them so she could pull the sketch book out and Soul did then started to flip through the pages. “You know, it might be a bit uncool of me to say this but, you are good at drawing.” Soul said looking through the pictures making Yuki look up at him.

“And you are good at the piano.” Yuki said making Soul flinch but then he looked down at her. “I remember that. I know you were kinda forced to do it, but you are good at it and don’t think that Wes is better-” Yuki cut off as her eyes went wide and she gasped slightly. Soul was looking away but then not hearing anything else from Yuki he turned back to look at her and his eyes widened seeing she was frozen, her pupils were gone from her eyes, and she was just staring straight ahead unmoving.

“Yuki.” Soul said and he slightly shook her. Yuki didn’t make a movement of her own and she didn’t blink, she just stared ahead. After a moment Yuki slowly blinked her eyes a few times then her pupils reappeared and she pushed herself up. “Hey.” Soul started, sounding worried but Yuki’s eyes widened hearing his voice. She turned to look at him then she wrapped her arms around him tightly. Soul’s eyes widened but he looked down at her slightly shocked. “Did you remember something?” Soul asked, Yuki nodded her head making Soul look down at her. “What did you remember?” Soul asked.
