Chapter 9: The Accused

All I can see is white and bright flashes of lights blinding my eyes. I was trying to regain control of my senses, I have the sensation of sterility and the scent of methyl alcohol in the atmosphere. When my vision was clear, I can see that I'm in a clinic I have bandages all over my body. I looked up to see Asher talking to a Doctor, and when he noticed that I was awake he immediately rushed by my side.

"Oh thank god you're awake" he said and held my hand. I can see it on his face that he was really worried. I just gave him a weak smile. "I'm so sorry Cath I should have been more cautious, hindi ko na isip that they would go after you after they failed to get to me." he explained with his face completely downcast.

"So why did you do it?" I asked him under my breath.

"He can't just molest my sister and get away with it, walang pwede mang bastos sa kapatid ko." he answered and I couldn't help but smile.

"Pero dapat inisip mo ang consequence ng ginagawa mo."

"I know and I'm sorry. I was just so angry that I wasn't thinking straight." he explained.

"So what did the doctor say?" I asked para ma iba ang topic.

"Well, aside from a sprained ankle, bleeding gums, and the bruises on your body. You're fine." he said with a cheerful smile. He never fails to cheer me up whenever I'm down. "Buti nalang na dala ka kaagad ni Axel dito, I swear to god, I will make those Brooks siblings pay for what they've done." napawi ang ngiti sa kanyang mukha and he clutched his hand into a fist. Moments later we heard talking and footsteps approaching the clinic at pumasok ang tatlong magagadang lalaki, and I saw him. Lumapit sa akin si Cayden at Zane.

"hey cute girl, was Axel really that sadist in bed for you to end up looking like that?" Biro ni Zane at agad siyang sinapak ni Asher. "Ouch! Just kidding you know, the atmosphere is so thick you can cut it with a knife."

"we are just glad to see you okay Cath." singit ni Cayden na naka ngiti sa akin. "Thanks to Axel here who was able to save you in time, I think you really owe him." Dagdag pa niya at lumingon ako kang Axel. Naka sandal lang siya sa may pinto at naka tingin sa malayo. I scanned the room again and I was disappointed to see na wala si Quin. Why am I even looking for him, I bet he's too busy to even care what's happening to me. Alam ko naman na may marami siyang mas importante na aasikasuhin.

"what did happen to that Edward guy after you dragged him out of the room?" I asked Cayden. Nag tinginan sila ni Zane bago may sumagot.

"Well, after Axel knocked him out. Pinalabas namin lahat ng bisita sa bahay, when everyone was out we taught Edward Brook a little lesson. But little did we know that this idiotic brother of yours still went after him. He was already beaten up, at binigyan pa siya ng round two ni Asher. Kaya ayon, nagalit ang kapatid niya. After naging palpak ang tauhan na pinadala nila para gantihan si Ahser, they went after you instead. They thought that you were an easier target." paliwanag ni Zane. So my precision were right all along.

"So it was your bloody fault!"

A voice exclaimed out of nowhere. Then suddenly someone punched Asher in the face. I was socked to see who did it.

"Quin! Stop it!" sabi ni Cayden habang pinipigilan nila ni Zane si Quin. "Dude Calm down!"

"What the hell is your problem?!" sigaw ni Asher sa kanya habang hawak hawak ang kanyang panga. Nakita ko ang dugo na namumula sa kanyang labi.

"Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit nangyari 'to kang Cath! Kung marunong kalang sana mag isip at hindi puro emosyon ang pinapa iral mo edi sana walang ganito na nangyari!" Galit na sabi ni Quin. Rage was drawn in his face.

"Damn you!" Asher exclaimed at ginantihan ng suntok si Quin.

"Stop it please!" buong lakas kong sigaw para marinig nila ako. Sinubukan ko bumaba sa clinic bed, and as I stepped on the floor I felt an intense sting on my ankle at naramdaman ko ang pag bagsak ng aking katawan, before I knew it nasalo ako nang isang mabilis na nilalang. Kanina lang ay naka sandal lang siya sa may pinto at ngayon biglang andito na siya sa tabi ko saving me from falling to the cold hard tiles. Ibinalik niya ako sa pagka upo sa clinic bed, and gave me a glare. His eyes was telling me to stay where I was and don't do anything stupid. Naglakad lang siya pabalik sa pinto na parang walang kaguluhan na nangyayari.

"Huwag ka nga mag malinis Quin! This was practically your fault! Remember na binilin ko sayo ang kapatid ko that night?! I f*cking entrusted her to you! Buong akala ko that you would be there for her kaya naging kampante ako! Pero anong ginawa mo? Iniwan mo siya mag isa sa isang bar counter because of your stupid life issues! You freaking left her in the middle of a party kung saan alam mo na maraming umaaligid na mga kung isno sinong lalaki!" Asher said breaking the silence.

"And now you are blaming me for your Idiocy? Ang galing mo din mang baliktad ano?! And wala kang karapatan husgahan ang life issues ko. You of all people know what I'm going through, and I thought you were my friend. Hindi ko iiwan si Cath kung hindi lang importante ang inaasikaso ko! You have no rights to judge me because you dont't know what it's f*cking like to be Quin Villamor!" pag pipigil sa galit na sabi ni Quin.

"Wag mo kami idamay sa mga life issues mo tol! Edi sana hindi ka nalang bumalik dito sa Pinas kung puro kayabangan na wala sa lugar lang ang dala mo!" I looked at Asher in disbelief. Hindi ako maka paniwala na kaya niyang sabihin 'yon sa kaibigan niya. Nakita ko din si Quin na hindi maka paniwala sa sinabi ni Ahser.

"Enough boys! I cannot tolerate this kind of chaos in my clinic. All of you must leave except for the patients guardian or else I will call the guards." Buong authority na sabi ng doktor. Wala na silang magawa kung hindi mag batuhan nalang nang matatalim na tingin. Tinignan ako ni Quin and I just looked away.

Napa isip ako na totoo naman ang sinabi ni Asher na iniwan ako ni Quin mag isa doon even right then and there he told me na poprotektahan niya ako at all cost, he then broke that promise immediately. Pero totoo din naman ang sinabi ni Quin na dahil sa pang gugulpi ni Asher sa Edward na 'yon ay nagalit ang kapatid niya and went after me. Ugh! I'm so confused right now. Wala naman akong sinisisi sa nangyari pero I can't really help to think of the odds.

"We'll just leave, sorry for the trouble. Mauna na kami, get well soon Cath." paalam ni Cayden habang tinutulak si Quin palabas. "Bye cute girl, I hope you feel better soon" dagdag ni Zane. I was expecting na mag sasalita si Axel pero pag lingon ko sa pintuan ay wala na siya. Lumabas na sila and silence covered the whole place. Umupo si Asher sa silya na nasa tabi ng higaan at parang may malalim na iniisip.

Ayaw ko na dagdagan ang stress na nararamdaman niya kapag pinagalitan ko pa siya, alam ko naman na hindi niya ginusto na makipag away sa kanyang matalik na kaibigan.

"You should take some rest" sabi ko. Tumingin siya sa akin with frustration in his eyes. I managed to give him a smile and he sighed, ipinatong lang niya ang ulo niya sa kama. Humiga nalang din ako upang makapag pahinga.

I just want to rest, my body still bloody hurts.
