Chapter 26: Dancing on Cloud Nine

I looked at myself in the mirror staring as the droplets of water roll down my skin. Is this even true? The one that I least expected to be, is the same one that will sweep me off my feet. It's funny how the person you hate the most can turn out to be the same person you would adore the most. Iba talaga mag laro ang tadhana.

I looked at my closet to search for a decent dress to wear. A Gucci red dress caught my eye, it was fitted with a sexy turtle neck top.

"Red suits you"

His voice rang in my ear. That was the night that I was sundered from him, and in the same dress I wore when I saw his true nature, his inner demon.

I took the red dress and wore it, ngayon ko lang napag masdan na maganda pala ang kurba nang aking katawan and the dress helped emphasized my small waist, ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon para purihin ang katawan ko, dahil siguro noon ang hiphop ko pa manamit.

I was in front of the mirror finishing up my make up when I heard a honk of a car outside.

He's here.

I just took my purse and headed out. I saw him na naka sandal sa kanyang 2020 Rolls-Royce Dawn. I think this guy has a collection of dream cars. He's wearing a black tuxedo with a black turtle neck inner and his gold necklace shines in the light of the night. He was frozen like a statue when he saw me approaching and this gave me a little confidence. Pinag buksan niya agad ako ng pinto into this heavenly cars passenger seat.

"You look gorgeous" sabi niya and I just smiled. Pinaandar na niya ang sasakyan at umalis na kami.

"Where exactly are we going?" I asked .

"You'll see when we get there." sabi niya na naka focus lang ang atensyon sa kalsada. Hindi nakang ako sumagot at tahimik lang ang buong byahe namin.

Matapos ang ilang minuto na pag mamaneho huminto kamin sa tapat nang isang malaking Resto-Hotel. It looks so elegant and fancy. Lumabas siya sa sasakyan at pinag buksan ako ng pinto, he offered me his arm at tinanggap ko iyon. Nag lakad kami patungo sa isang engrandeng pintuan at sumalubong agad sa amin ang isang tagapag silbi.

"The reservation for Mr. Del Valle please." Axel said to the lady.

"Ahh right this way sir." sagot niya at iginiya ang daan namin. Mukhang well trained ang mga staff nila dito, and the design of the interior is grand mukhang hindi basta basta ang lugar na ito. Huminto siya sa harap ng malaking pinto. "Enjoy your evening sir" sabi niya at umalis.

Binuksan ni Axel ang pinto at bumungad sakin ang isang maluwag na room na may lamesa sa gilid ng isang glass wall, as you look through the glass it's like an over view of the city. The room was covered in rose petals and lit candles and a waiter standing beside the table. The scene was so romantic. Hinila ni Axel ang upuan na nasa gilid ng glass wall at pina upo ako dun then he sat across me.

"What do you think?" he asked.

"So romatic Mr. Del Valle" I said jokingly.

"Anything for you Miss Hendrix" he answered with a smirk.

Tumawa kaming dalawa at tinawag niya ang waiter para makapag order kami. After a few minutes dumating na ang order namin.

"So who else lives with you in that mansion" I asked.

"Actually I'm alone here in the Pilippines, my family lives abroad." he answered while enjoying his meal. After he said this sadness crossed my mind.

Naalala ko tuloy ang sinabi ni Asher nung araw na iyon. I didn't thought that he could be this lonely.

"It must be so boring living alone in that huge house all by yourself."

"I resent being with them after...." I waited for him to continue. "I'm sorry, that wasn't the appropriate thing to talk about over dinner." he smiled and stood up. He gestured something to the waiter and music started to play.

"Catherine Alexandria Hendrix may I have this dance with you?" he offered me his hand at tinanggap ko iyon pero nag tataka ko siyang tinignan. He placed my free hand on his neck, of course because the other arm has a cast on it, and then he placed his hands on my waist then we slowly swayed with the music.

"What is this now Mr. Del Valle?"

"Well, I didn't had the chance to properly have a dance with you because we were interrupted last time." wika niya and what happened that night flashed back to my mind. The explosion, the smoke, the kidnapping, definitely not a pleasing experience.

"So why did you like me?" I asked out of nowhere.

"Do I really need to explain?" he asked with a smirk.

"Hey I just want know, honestly I can't see anything special about me for someome like you to be attracted about." walang expression kong sabi.

"Don't say that. The moment you stepped into my world I really thought that you were just the same with those other girls, but you proved me wrong. You were the only one who can make me question my authority, it's normal for a person to quiver in my presence but when it comes to you, I can see no fear... I can see nothing. Since then it always bothered me to see that you are not affected by me at all. You're like this box that I cannot open, you're a mystery to me." he said looking straight into my eyes. His treacherous brown orbs was like consuming my soul, like he is reading my entire being.

"So are you leaving me when you figure me out?" I said hesitantly.

"No, because you never fail to surprise me everyday, you're so unpredictable and it's driving me even more insane."

"So how did you managed to like me even though I'm like this?"

"Because I'm not fond of admiring plain white walls Cath, you and your personality is so colorful and that's what makes you, YOU." He said and held both of my cheeks, yet we were still swaying.

"So the Lamb found a way to tame the Lion." I said looking into his brown orbs. "What a stupid Lion you are."

"And what a sick, sadistic Lamb you are." he answered and pressed his soft lips on mine.
