Chapter 24: The Lion and The Lamb

"I'll be waiting for you at home." sabi ni Asher nung nasa tapat na kami nang isang malaking mansyon. Tumango lang ako bilang tugon at bumaba sa sasakyan. Nag doorbell ako at isang babae na naka uniporme ng asul ang bumukas ng gate. She looks like the caretaker of the mansion.

"Magandang araw po, is Axel home?" tanong ko sa babae.

"Ahh opo pasok po. Nandoon po si Master Dwayne sa kwarto niya. Makikita niyo po iyon sa 3rd floor pinaka huling pinto sa kanan." sabi niya at sumunod ako sa dereksyon na tinuro niya sa'kin.

I found myself standing in front of a large victorian style door. I was frozen in my tracks, doubt was crossing into my mind. Can I do this? Should I do this? Well, I made it this far. I took a deep breath at nag lakad patungo sa pinto. It was slightly open so I peeped in. I saw him standing in front of a glasswall and looking into nothingness, he was shirtless holding a half full bottle of whiskey and I saw more bottles on the floor. Is he planning to die from kidney failure or something? I slowly pushed the door open and its creek echoed inside the room, agad naman siya lumingon sa dereksyon ng pinto and saw me sneaking in.

"What are you doing here?" tanong niya and took a chug of whiskey from the bottle he was holding.

"Well I was expecting to see you in the farewell party you know." mahinahon kong sabi habang nag lalakad ako papunta sa kanya.

"What for? Aalis ka din naman weather I attend or not." walang emosyon nyang sabi at uminom ulit mula sa bote.

"Aalis na nga lang ako ang sungit mo pa din" I said jokingly.

"That's the bloody point!! You're-- !!.... Arrghh!" he screamed in frustration at bigla niya sinuntok ang pader.

"Me what Axel?!" matigas kong ganti kahit natatakot ako sa kung anong pwede niyang gawin sa akin.

"Are you really that stubborn?! How many times do I have to point it out to you?!" dagdag pa niya at tinapon ang bote na hawak niya at nabasag ito sa pader. I was quivering at this point, he's so scary at nag wawala pa siya.

"Axel please...." nanginginig na boses kong sabi. He then walked closer towards me and pinned me against the wall and his two hands were cornering me, then he looked straight into my eyes.

"You somehow found a way to tame the hell inside of me. Your face, your smell, and your presence, I might go crazy if a don't incounter those even just for one day! you're like my personal brand of heroine. Now you're f*cking leaving for good! It's funny how a lamb can tame a lion. You're the only salvation I have from being fully consumed in this abbeys inside me." he said with frustration and anger in his voice. Bigla niya hinawakan ang pisngi ko "Can't you see? I can't f*cking get away from you Catherine!" I saw desperation and sadness in his eyes.

"Then don't"

I answered regarding to what he said. He then held both of my cheeks and slowly leaning towards my face, I can smell strawberry mint with a touch of whiskey in his breath because he is too close. I closed my eyes and my heart was racing, then I felt it skip a beat for a second when his warm and soft lips touched mine. Before I even knew it, I was kissing him back.

My face was heating up, then he started to softly bite my lower lip gumanti ako sa kanya then he suddenly lifted me up on my waist and carried me to the bed, he laid me on the soft bedding but still not letting go of the kiss, ang init ng katawan ko. Bumaba ang mga halik niya sa leeg ko, the most turning-on part for the pleasure of a woman. He was gently kissing my neck and I can feel his warm breath on my skin. I was just caressing his hair as he did this.

"Aarrghh no!" he exclaimed and pulled himself away from me. Parang pinipigilan niya ang sarili niya. "I can never lose control with you Cath." sabi pa niya at humiga sa tabi ko.

"I'm sorry I got carried away too." I said while still mesmerized by what just happened.

"Are you still going to leave?" narinig kong wika niya. I turned to him pero naka higa pa din ako, then he did the same. I saw pleading in his eyes.

"I guess not, I'm not going to leave me one damn shot of a lifetime." I said with a smile.

"So Asher told you that shit" He said jokingly at tinakpan niya ang muka niya using his arm.

"Hey Axel." tawag ko sa kanya.

"Hmmmm?"

"If I'm your salvation, then might as well know that you are going to hell." I said at tinanggal niya ang kanyang mga kamay na naka takip sa mukha niya at timungun ulit sakin.

"I won't because I will be the devil that will be greeting you there." he said with an intimidating smile and leaned over to kiss me again, the most tender and genuine kiss ever. After that he pulled me closer to him and wrapped me around his muscled arms, we just stayed like that for a few minutes. His embrace made me feel safe, like it's this indestructible shield. It feels nice.

All this time, I though that the emotions that I feel for him was just the outcome of the thought of me hating him. The constant confusing emotion that always drives me crazy while trying to figure out what it was. I didn't realize that it could have been this serious. Maybe Asher was right, maybe I am that stubborn that even I could blind myself from my own feelings. But I'm glad he made me realize it before it was too late. I never thought that I could be this happy, like a hole in my heart was instantly filled, I feel complete and satisfied like I already assembled the puzzle that has been on my mind for so long. I'm glad I chose to talk to him, I'm glad to finally have a conclusion to what had been constantly trashing my mind.
