Chapter 19: Curious Cat

I was in the midst of wearing my clothes when someone knocked on my bedroom door.

"Alexandria honey? you have a visitor." narinig ko'ng wika ni mom.

Right when she said that, I knew it was him. Dali dali nalang ako nag bihis at bumaba. I saw him sitting on the living room couch. He's like a prince waiting for his princess to come out, but of course I'm no princess. To him I'm just a target of his mean bullying. Tumayo siya kaagad nang makita niya ako.

"Aww baby you didn't tell me that you and Axel were going out." biglang sabi ni mom na kina kunot ng noo ko.

"We're not going out mom, he just picking me up today because he has my car." walang emosyon kong sabi at nag beso ako kang mom. "mauna na po kami" paalam ko.

"Bye tita." paalam din ni Axel at nag wave lang saamin si mom.

"You really hate the idea of us, dating huh?" Biglang tanong ni Axel habang umuupo ako sa passengers seat.

"Not even once I considered the thought of dating you, and for all I know, you don't take dating seriously like what you did to the rest of the girls you played with." I said with a blank expression on my face.

"Well I'm completely okay with that. Because I don't consider asking you out anyway." ganti niya. After he said that I felt something heavy in my chest, why am I even disappointed about this? I should be glad to know how he really sees at me.

"Well I guess we just hate each other that way." I said coldly na naka tingin lang sa kalsada. Hindi na siya sumagot at tahimik lang ang buong byahe namin.

Pag dating namin sa school, he tossed the car keys to me at lumabas na ng sasakyan. Coincidentally classmate kami sa first subject ngayon so meaning sabay din kami pupunta nang classroom. We were just silently walking to the classroom and as always, people were staring at us and all I get is the angry glares of his fangirls. Well, what's new about that? Palagi naman akong masama sa paningin nila just because their precious Five is close to me. Umupo nalang ako sa may bandang likod at maya maya lang ay pumasok si Miss Bicar.

"Good morning Class." bati niya and as usual walang sumagot sa kanya. "We won't have a class for today." sabi pa niya at tyaka lang nag ingay ang mga classmate ko.

"But! I will be announcing that we will have our  Acquaintance Ball three days from now and  we won't have a class because today will be your first day of practice." dagdag pa niya. Nag tilian naman ang mga tao dito sa room, they were all talking about how excited they are and what they want to wear, but of course not me. I'm starting to hate this already, just the thought that I need to wear gown and heels makes me hesitate to attend.

We were granted early lunch kasi after ng lunch mag start na daw ang practices. Nag lalakad ako papunta sa cafeteria when I heard talking sa isang bakanteng room. Umandar naman ang curiosity ko at sumilip ako sa may gap ng pinto. I saw the five talking and their faces was quite serious.

"Dude I think we should ask assistance from the rest of the members." Asher said.

"No, there is no need to involve the rest of Dauntless Regime in this problem." sagot ni Axel.

"Pre, Davil El Familia is all over place we might be stronger than them but we are greatly out numbered." Ganti ni Asher.

"Edi pag sinaktan ulit ang kapatid mo pasabugin mo ang bungo. Tangina simpleng problema eh." Zane said at nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi niya.

What the hell are they talking about? And what is this Dauntless Regime and Davil El Familia they just mentioned? And what does that have to do with me?

"There's no need to do that. We'll figure out something else, even though they are starting to make a move like in that alley, hindi nila magagalaw si Cath when she's under our watch." Cayden said logically.

The Alley? So that man in a cap was sent to come after me? Davil El Familia? '𝒟.ℰ.ℱ' That was the initials that was on that letter. Is that some kind of gang? The one who's after me?

Nakita ko sila na nag lalakad papunta sa pinto. Oh no, I can't let them catch me kaya tumakbo ako papunta sa pinaka malapit na restroom. I sat inside a cubicle trying to process the information I just heard. Napatagal ata ako sa restroom at hindi ko namalayan na kanina pa natapos ang lunch break. Sh*t mapapagalitan na naman ako neto. I ran and ran until I reached the Gymnasium. Hingal na hingal akong pumasok at nakita ko sila lahat na naka linya na by partner, every eye was on me.

"Both of you! You're late!" Galit na wika ni Ma'am Sonya, ang mag tuturo sa sayaw. Wait, both of US? Lumingon ako sa likod ko at nakita ko si Axel na hingal na hingal din mukhang galing din siya sa pagtatakbo.

"Get in line! Kayo na dalawa ang mag partner. Nakaka abala kayo sa practice." sabi pa niya at nag lakad nalang kami sa likod ng linya. Naging partner ko pa siya, arrgghh!

Fist step the boy will offer his hand and the girl will take it.

Second step the boy will pull the girl close in front of him.

He pulled me and I bumped into his hard chest in a split second I felt his heart beat, ang bilis. Why is Axel Del Valle nervous?

Third step, the boy will touch the cheek of his partner while looking into her eyes.

When he touched my cheek parang nag kuryente na dumaloy sa pisngi ko patungo sa aking buong katawan. Lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko.

Fourth step the boy will make his partner turn using his hand.

He gracefully made me turn and held my waist when I returned to face him.

"Relax, I can hear your heartbeat from here" He suddenly said. Tumingin lang ako sa ibang dereksyon.

It's like catching lightning

At this point hindi ko na alam kung anong ginagawa ko, but I'm still dancing... With this jerk. I was just looking at him, he's so graceful at ang lambot ng kanyang katawan, we were smoothly swaying while he was holding my hand and his other hand is on my waist. My vision was locked in his revolting handsome features. He then turned to me and I saw his mysterious brown eyes, I saw a glimpse of adoration in the depths of those brown orbs. Hindi ko namalayan na patapos na pala ang kanta.

And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
So can I have this dance?...

The last step is you will hold both of your partners hands and look into their eyes.

"What's Davil El Familia and Dauntless Regime?" I asked out of nowhere. After I asked this, the fondness in his eyes quickly faded away.

"Something you shouldn't concern about" he said blankly at tumingin sa ibang dereksyon. Hindi na ako sumagot, I just let my curiosity get the best of me what a shame. Binitawan niya agad ang kamay ko and walked away.

Practices was over and I still can't take it off my mind. Damn this curiosity.
