Chapter 48: Friends and Betrayal

* BANG *

The vicious and loud gunshot rang in my ears. I panicked and tried to throw myself in front of Axel but I can't because of these damn ropes. Lumingon ako sa kanya at tila wala lang siyang emosyon na naka titig kang Alex.

There was no bullet.

Where did the gunshot came from?! I looked around and saw a man. He was pointing a revolver pistol at Alex and he was the one who pulled a trigger earlier. Ipinutok niya ang kanyang baril sa kamay ni Alex pero ang baril lang na hawak niya ang tinamaan dahilan para mabitawan niya ito at hindi mabaunan ng bala si Axel.

"What the?!" Alex exclaimed at tumingin kung saan nanggaling 'yung putok.

"You haven't change a bit dear friend." The man that's holding the pistol said in a deep and intimidating tone.

"Well, if it isn't the two traitors." Alex said at halata sa mukha niya ang pagkagulat, pagka-lito, at ang frustration.

Magkakilala sila? Traitors? Anong kinalaman nila sa buhay ni Akex? At ano ba ang ginagawa nila dito?! What the hell is going on?!

"You haven't changed. You're still a stupid brat." sabi nung kasama niya.

Tumalikod si Alex mula sa'min at humarap sa dalawa na dumating. Who practically just saved our asses.

"I don't take opinions from traitors like you, at bakit pa ba kayo bumalik? I told you not to show your faces to me ever again." nakikita ko na kinukuyom ni Alex ang mga kamay niya. Nanginginig pa siya sa galit. Mas lalo pa siya nagalit nang tumawa lang ang kinakausap niya.

"Of course we need to come back to save Caius's little crush!"

Giovanni said and laughed again. A humorless laugh. Caius was the one who shot Alex's hand earlier.

"Crush? Ow I see." pag proseso ni Alex sa sinabi ni Giovanni and he looked at me, he have that stupid smirk on his face again. "Does every man that comes in contact with this girl fall inlove? What foolishness."

"What do you know about love Alex? You never knew nor encountered that feeling, and that's what made you dejected." Caius said.

I really can't believe na nandito sila. They were miles away from me pero sumunod sila agad sa'kin. So does that mean Caius told Giovanni about my life here in the Philippines? Or maybe Giovanni already had a hint. Ugh, I don't fucking know. Basta ang importante niligtas nila kami.

"We three were supposed to be so great together. We were the leaders of Davil El Familia and we could have won the number one spot in the underground ranking if you didn't betrayed me and left me behind." I saw Alex's face full of bitterness and anger.

So Alex is the leader of Davil El Familia, and I from what I just heard Caius and Giovanni was supposed to be his allies. So maybe that's why Giovanni knows a lot about Dauntless and Davil. They were once rivals. But the question is, why? What happened between them?

"We never betrayed you, we only cut or ties with you. After you killed your own sister for power, we realized that you're nothing more than a selfish madman who's mind is swallowed by insecurities and pride." Giovanni said at nanlaki agad ang mga mata ko sa sinabi niya.

"He... He killed your sister?" I whispered to Axel. Hindi siya sumagot and I saw sadness crossed his face. I see, he has a soft side when it comes to his family.

"Ayane is dead because of you. You killed your own sister because of your lust for power! Just because you cannot surpass Ayane, you made your pride and your ego manipulate you and took her life just for you to be on top. But you still weren't because Axel outgrew you and he became better than Ayane and you. Tapos ngayon papatayin mo din siya?"
