Chapter 25: Damn Serious

So nandito ako ngayon sa Starbucks.

After that drama in Axel's room Asher helped me talk to mom about my reasons and fortunately she said she understands, but she and dad still wants to talk to him, a normal parental instinct. Kaya ako nandito ngayon to talk to him about it. Asan na ba ang lalaking iyon?

"Cath." may tinig na bumulong sa tainga ko at nilingon ko agad 'yon. When I turned I soft lips ang dumapo sa pisngi ko. Tumawa siya nang mamula ang mukha ko. This guy!

"Argh, quit fooling around and sit down already." I said grumpily.

"What is it?" tanong niya at umupo sa upuan na nasa harapan ko.

"Well, Asher helped me discuss my reasons to mom and she said she's okay with it." panimula ko at uminom ng kape na hawak ko.

"That's great news." naka ngisi niyang sabi at hinawakan ang kamay ko na nasa lamesa.

"But still they want to talk to you about-- you know, about us. If you're okay with it" matapos ko sabihin ito ay nag bago naman ang expression ng mukha niya. Ayaw ba niya? Is he not comfortable with it? He then looked at me straight in the eyes.

"When I said I will court you I was damn serious. Kahit si kamatayan pa ang makaharap ko hindi ako uurong. I will gladly face anyone for your hand." seryoso niyang sabi at hinalikan ang likod ng aking kamay. Hindi ko mapigilan na mapangiti. Who could have ever thought na isang Axel Del Valle can be this sweet.

"Come with me, you need to help me with something." sabi niya at hinila ako sa isang shop na puro damit pang lalaki ang laman. Hindi pa din siya nag bago, mahilig pa din siya kaladkarin ako.

"What's this about?" I asked habang hinihila niya ako papasok.

"You will help me pick out an outfit that I will wear later." nahihiya pa niyang sabi. Muntik naman ako matawa dito.

"You said it wasn't a big deal yet here you are worrying what to wear." pag pipigil ko ng tawa na sabi.

"Hey! It's my first time doing this so don't judge me." naka pout niyang sabi at namula pa ang mukha niya.

"you're so cute" gigil kong sabi at pinisil ko ang pisngi niya. "No matter what you wear I'm sure you will look good so don't stress too much" I said with a smile. Lalo naman namula ang mukha niya.

"Halika na nga." sabi niya at hinila na naman ako papasok ng store.

Namimili ako ng mga damit at ganon din ang ginawa niya, and when I saw the price tags I can see that this man has expensive taste on clothes. May nakita akong plack na polo with gold details and when I saw it I instantly fell inlove.

"Hey! Try this." ang laki ng ngisi ko nung inabot ko iyon sa kanya. Kinuha niya ang danit at punasok sa fitting room. Pag labas niya literal ako na nganga.

HE'S SUCH A HEART THROB

"hey mapapasukan ng langaw yang bibig mo. Mag bayad na tayo." natatawa niyang sabi at hinila ako papunta sa counter. Lumabas na kami matapos mag bayad at lahat nang nadadaanan namin ay naka titig sa kanya. Ano ba naman yan! Para akong yaya niya pag magkasama kami.

Andito na kami sa tapat ng bahay namin. He seems nervous kaya pinisil ko ang kamay niya.

"You'll be fine." sabi ko na naka ngiti. Pumasok na kami sa gate at nag lakad papasok ng bahay at nakita ko kaagad sila Mom, Dad, at Asher na naka upo sa living room. Agad sila tumingin sa dereksyon namin at iginiya ko si Axel papunta sa kanila. Umupo kaming dalawa sa bakanteng sofa na magkaharap kina mom at dad.

"Good day tito Charles and tita Alexine." pormal niyang bati.

"Good day Axel and perhaps you know why we want to talk to you." seryosong wika ni dad. Jeez, I can feel the tension in here.

"Yes sir." buong boses na sagot ni Axel.

"I have known you for a long time child, ever since you were a little boy and I know that you are a good person." dagdag pa ni dad at hindi lang sumagot si Axel. "and my son Asher told me how you helped him rescue my daughter during that incident. I'm expecting you to give my daughter all the love and respect that she deserves, I don't want to see her cry nor get hurt, do you get my point Axel?"

"Yes sir. From the moment Catherine stepped into my world I've never felt this eager to live and protect someone even if it cost me my life. I will never hurt your daughter nor make her cry." my heart melted with his words and he even confessed how intense his feelings for me in front of my father.

"I'm impressed with your manliness Axel, and I hope you are a man of your words. We are entrusting you are more precious than life daughter, so we hope you won't let us down." sabi ni dad at tumango lang si Axel.

"Don't worry dad, I'll beat the shit out of this dude if he tries to make my sister cry" Asher said jokingly.

"Ohh stop it Asher." mom scolded him.

"Thankyou Tito Charles and Tita Alexine for the trust, and may I take this chance to ask your permission to take Catherine out for dinner tonight?" pormal niyang sabi.

"Permission Granted" sagot ni dad at nag paalam na si Axel para umalis. Hinatid ko siya patungo sa gate.

"I'll pick you up at eight." he said with a wide smile, ang saya niya ata. Tumango lang ako and once again he kissed the back of my hand at tuluyan nang umalis.
