Chapter 45: Tangents Meet Again

"Umalis lang ako saglit at sinisira niyo na ang mga guwapo niyong mukha."

My eyes immediately stinged nung tumingin sila sa'kin. Parang may nakakabinging katahimikan sa paligid, naka tayo lang ako at pati din sila. Para kaming mga statwa na nagtititigan. Halata ang pagka gulat sa mga mukha nila, tinitignan lang nila ako na parang rinirihistro nila ang kabuuan ko.

Dahan dahan na naglakad si Axel palapit sa'kin. Nakatulala pa rin ang expression niya. Pag dating niya sa harapan ko, he slowly lifted his hand ang softly touched my cheeks. Sa punto na 'yon ay hindi ko na napigilan ang mga luha ko. I just stood there staring at him, his eyes that used to compose of death and violence, now turned to fondness and admiration.

"I'm not dreaming right?" he whispered.

"Look. I'm sorry that I left you guys specially at this time. Hindi dapat ako nag padala sa emosyon ko and I understand kung galit pa kayo sa'kin, I will accept ev-."

"Oh just shut up!" Axel exclaimed and pulled my close to him. He wrapped me in his muscled arms and hugged me tight, it's like he never wants to let go. His warmth, his scent, and everything about him. I didn't realize that I was craving his presence this whole time.

"Cath? Is that really you?"

Tumingin ako sa nag salita at naka tulaka pa rin sila sa'kin na tila hindi sila maka paniwala na nandito ako. I reached out my hand to him at tinanggap niya ito.

"Asher," I whispered and smiled. Hindi ko mapigilan ang mga luha ko. "Zane... Cayden..." Asher immediately pulled me from Axel and hugged me together with Zane and Cayden.

"You're really here." sabi pa niya at mas hinigpitan ang pagkaka kapit sa'kin.

"I really didn't expect this kind of welcome. I thought that sisigawan niyo ako or mumurahin niyo ako." sabi ko habang pinupunasan ang mga luha ko.

"Why would we do that?" Asher asked and looked at me in the eyes.

"Because I left without even saying good bye, and I thought that you guys were angry at me bacause of what happened."

"Oh Cath, we were never angry at you, at higit sa lahat hindi ka namin sinisisi sa nangyari." I smiled as Asher wiped away my tears. Napalingon ako sa gilid ko at nakita ko si Zane, pag tingin ko sa kanya agad siya umiwas ng tingin sa'kin.

"Zane?" dahan dahan ako lumapit sa kanya at nagulat ako nang niyakap niya ako.

"Sorry if I hurt you Cute girl! Buhuhuhuhu!" whaaah hindi pa din siya nagbabago. Para parin syang bata. Pero mas lalo akong nagulat kasi umiiyak siya. The tears of a gangster is being shed for me.

"Alright move it! Before you crush her bones." sabi ni Axel at tinulak si Zane palayo sa'kin.

"Seloso mo!" reklamo ni Zane at nag nag pout pa siya.

"Angal ka?!" ito na naman ang dalawang 'to. Aso't pusa talaga. Pero natutuwa akong nakikita sika na ngumingiti muli.

We all sat down in the sofa at the living room para makapag usap ng maayos.

"So aside from you missed me, bakit ka bumalik?" pabirong sabi ni Zane.

"Well I heard that you guys were... Were causing trouble." nag-aalinlangan pa ako na sabaihin sa kanila na sinabi ni Marcia sa'kin ang lahat. Nakita ko na natigilan sila sa sinabi ko. Axel suddenly stood up.

"Can I talk to you in private?" sabi niya at hinila ako papunta sa isang kuwarto.

"What?" I asked.

"You shouldn't have come back." his words shocked me. Kanina lang parang ang saya niya na naka balik na ako ngayon sasabihan niya ako na hindi na dapat ako bumalik?

"What the hell?" nakakunot ang noo ko habang tumitingin sa kanya.

"Hindi ka na dapat bumalik, sobrang gulo na dito Cath. For the last three months na umalis ka Davil El Familia went even further for their hunting. Dauntless Regime needs to wipe them out first before kami ang maubos." he explained.

So ito ba ang dahilan kung bakit nila inuubos ang Davil El Familia? So Dauntless Regime didn't go rouge, they were just defending their members. But, why would Marcia say that? Maybe she didn't know. I knew Axel wouldn't lose control like that. He's smarter than that.

"You need to go back as soon as possible." dagdag pa niya dahilan para uminit ang ulo ko.

"Ayaw ko. If I can't stop you guys from continuing this madness then I might as well fight with you." matigas kong sabi.

"I can't let you do that."

"You know what? Damn you! Kung gusto ko bumalik dito wala kana don, kung gusto ko tumulong dito wala ka na don, kung bumalik ako para sayo wala kana don, If I want to be with you wala ka na don. Kasi buhay ko 'to." dagdag ko pa at hinawakan niya ang mag-kabilang braso ko.

I can see his dangerous and menacing brown orbs, it's like a portal straight to hell. He was just staring at me holding my arms.

"So should I be with you then?" he seriously asked with his deep and intimidating voice. Natigilan ako sa tanong niya. Am I ready for this? Is this the right time?

"Catherine, should I be with you?"

Diin pa niya and shook my arms. I looked into his eyes and I saw the he was desperate. My lips trembled and hot liquids ran down my cheeks, I hugged him tight na ikinagulat niya.

"I can't answer that now but please understand that you mean a lot to me." I said with a shaky voice at mas hinigpitan ang pag kakayakap sa kanya. He hugged me back even tighter.

"I will look forward for your reply, and I hope you also know how much you mean to me. Those past three lonely months I thought that I lost the whole world. I was in this dark pit waiting for my salvation to come back." his words melted my heart. Damn he always finds a way to heat the hard ice that covers my heart.

"I heard you trashed the living room" I jokingly said at agad siya kunawala sa yakap at tsaka nag cross arms.

"Oh yeah, you have a boyfriend." naka pout niyang sabi at tumalikod sa akin. Damn this guy is so cute. Niyakap ko siya sa mula sa likod.

"You know how much I like you, and I won't replace that for a guy I just met in three months."

After I said this, he turned around and scooped my chin. Inilapit niya ang mukha niya sa'kin, and I felt the feeling I didn't experience again for quite a long time. Sobrang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko.

"You're such a heart breaker." He whispered and gave me his maniac smile. I can smell his strawberry mint breath as he leaned even closer and pressed his soft lips against mine. This fucking butterflies in my stomach is driving me insane!

His presence and his warmth. As he was holding me, I felt safe and secured like never before.
