Chapter 31: The Return of Dismay

** CATH'S POV **

A mother's love is always with her children. From the beginning until after death. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrow a child's heart can ever know. But her goodness, her care, and her wisdom lives on like a legacy of love that will always be with her child.

My eyes were blurry as I threw flowers on the shinny white coffin that is being slowly dropped six feet under the ground. I can't imagine the pain that her son is feeling right now.

I turned to look at him and saw his body trembling and his theeth chatter as he was weeping. Beside him was Marcia who's eyes were full of despondency as she watch her beloved break down in pieces. We just stared at the white rectangular wooden box as it was slowly being covered by dirt.

After the burial the seven of us returned to Quin's place. He offered us snacks and refreshments yet the atmosphere of the place was so heavy.

"So... Uhm, you'll gonna stay here or move to your condo?" hindi ata kinaya ni Zane ang katahimikan at nag salita siya.

"I think I'll stay. It's just lonely without mom's presence." matamlay na sagot ni Quin, namamaga pa din ang mga mata niya sa pag iiyak.

"Don't worry bro, we'll visit often, and who knows maybe Marcia will move in with you." biro pa ni Zane dahilan para mapatawa kami lahat. Their brotherhood never fails to surprise me, it's amusing to see their willingness to care and back up for one another. It's something very precious that only true and unbreakable friendships can unfold.

Every one in the room was freaked out by him at inagaw ko nalang ang papel mula sa kamay niya at binasa ang nakasulat.

I just stared at the paper with completely no emotion on my face. I don't know what to feel right now.

We all sat down on the living room, every faces was wearing a very serious look.

"Alright so we need to warn the other about this." wika ni Asher.

"I already sent them the message." sagot ni Cayden. Grabe ang bilis nila kumilos. Halatang hindi basta basta ang mga tao na 'to.

"So what's the plan?" Zane asked.

"We stay together. There is no way that they can beat us when we are together because that is when we are at our strongest, the only chance they have to attack is when one of us is alone." Axel is speaking like a true leader.

"Surely uunahin nila ang isa sa atin kasi the five of us are the main foundations of Dauntless Regime and if one of us falls some of the others might lose guidance." Cayden said. Lately I've noticed that he's very wise on logical and situational thinking.

"What do you mean if one of you guys falls the others might get left unguided? Is your group composed of parts or something?" Marcia asked at halatang naguguluhan siya.

"Yes. Our group is made out of 5 types of members and each of them have different roles:

The Armors the ones that takes the front lane when there is a fight, these members are led by Asher.

The Bruisers or the fighter. They are the ones that mostly give the physical damage using body contact, the members of this are led by Zane.

The Mind Gamers this one is composed of the wisest thinkers. They are important for the planning of missions and disrupting the minds of their opponents. This team is led by Me, Cayden.

The Gunmans or the snipers. They are the one who handles guns and are very sharp shooters. This part is led by Quin.

And finally...

The Assassins also called the reaper or the slaughterer. They are all of the things that I just mentioned earlier, the members being chosen as an Assassin is very rare. Today out of approximately 300 members we only have 11 assassins. They are the most brutal in every aspect of the battle field, and this part is led by Axel.

And if one of us falls the members under our supervision might be left unguided and that's very dangerous."

Napanganga lang ako sa explanation ni Cayden. So kaya pala ang laki ng katawan niyan ni Asher kasi he's a front liner, and kaya pala ang bilis napatumba ni Zane ang mga membro ng DEF nu'ng gabing 'yon kasi he's the fighter, at kaya pala ang wise mag isip ni'tong si Cayden kasi he's the logical thinker, and Quin... Well, I still haven't seen him in action but Cayden said he's the Gunman, and Axel... The assassin. He has the ability perform all of these roles. Kaya pala napaka delekado ng binibigay niyang aura kapag sumeseryoso siya, and when I look into his brown eyes all I see is bloodlust and death.

Bigla ko naalala ang hitsura niya nu'ng nasa warehouse kami. The demon unleashed, I already shivered at that moment at ngayon malalaman ko na that was just a warm up.
