Chapter 57: Careful

Jade's POV

Simula ang mawala ang Arium ng yumaong hari ng Trivan, the Academy won't let anyone enter and leave the Academy, for everyone's safety.

Mas lalong pinatatag ang buong Academy. Kung dati, kaming mga Royalties lang ang gumawa ng protection, ngayon, all students must cast a protection for the Academy and for themselves.

Ito rin ang ginawa ng ibang Academies at ibang Kingdoms. The whole Crestelia is facing a big problem right now, kaya dapat maging maingat kami lalo.

"Jade, tara na." Inaya ako ni Aira na pumunta sa Cafeteria para kumain. It's Sunday, walang klase and students can roam around the whole Academy.

Sinuot ko ang tsinelas ko at sinamahan na si Aira papuntang Cafeteria. While we're walking, I saw many students outside. Kung dati ay naglalaro sila sa Academy, now, they focused on training for them to improve.

I looked at the protection, sobrang rami ng layers na halos hindi na iyon magigiba.

Nang makarating kami ng Cafeteria, kakaunti lang ang estudyante ang naroon kaya hindi kami nahirapang pumila. Aira stood in the lane while I was waiting for her to come back.

Im just looking at a space when someone called me. "U-uhm, Princess J-jade?" I looked who it was, I saw a student standing in front of me, halatang nahihiya panitong humarap saakin.

I looked at him. "Yes?" I asked coldly. Bahagya siyang namula saka may iniabot saakin na bulaklak.

I stared at the flower. Hindi ako tanga para hindi malaman kung anong ibig sabihin non.

"F-for you." He said. Napakamot siya ng batok niya at hindi ako matignan.

I looked at the flower and accepted it. "It's nice, but I don't accept courtings." I said to him directly.

Nakita ko ang pagkapahiya sa mukha niya. I felt a sudden guilt. Tumango-tango nalang siya.

"S-sorry." He muttered. I just nodded.

"It's fine. You can find someone better than me." I said. This is not the first time someone asked to court me, pero lahat ng iyon ay tinanggihan ko.

I'm looking for someone who deserves my heart. And I know the only person that can court me.

Pinilig ko ang ulo ko at tinignan muli ang estudyanteng nasa harapan ko. "Sorry too." I said. I maybe cold but i'm not heartless. I'm guilty of what i've done.

He just nodded and smiled. "It's okay too. Atleast I know that I dont have a chance." He said then bid goodbye to me and left.

Sakto namang dumating si Aira, holding a tray of food. Tumingin siya sa lalaking kakaalis lang. Kumunot ang noo niya at tinignan ako. "Who was that?" She asked.

"Asking to court me." Sabi ko ng diretsahan. Biglang luminaw ang mukha niya.

"Oh." She said then placed the foods infront of me. The food was enough to consume by us.

"Bakit di ka pumayag?" She asked.

I looked at her, confused. "You know I don't accept courts, except for the one I like." Sabi ko.

Tinignan niya ako. "Bakit? Nililigawan ka ba ni Dylan?" She asked.

Doon ako natahimik. He's not courting me.

"You see, you should also give them a chance to prove themselves to you." She said.

"But you know that they don't have 'that' chance." Sabi ko. She sighed in defeat.

"Besides, mahirap ng magtiwala sa mga nakapaligid sayo, you may not know, they will be the one to end you." I said meaningly. I ate my order while talking.

She looked at me, confused. "Where are you getting all your speeches?" Natatawang sabi niya.

I just shrugged and continued eating.

"Maybe your right. Sa panahon natin ngayon, mahirap ng magtiwala lalo na at marami ng nakapaligid sa mundo natin." Suddenly, she agreed on what I said.

We talked while eating. Kwinento rin ni Aira ang condition ng lovelife niya. She said that it's normal, minsan may tampuhan pero madaling nagbabati.

"Why don't you confess to him?" She suddenly asked me.

Napatingin ako sakanya dahil doon. I suddenly questioned myself. Bakit nga ba hindi pa ako umaamin?

"It's not the right time. Siguro kapag maayos na ang lahat." I said.

She laughed. "You really don't want to involve yourself into a relationship when there is danger. Pero paano kung pagdating ng gyera ay hindi na tayo makaligtas, you won't confess to him?" She said.

I froze. She was right. What if I don't survive? Edi nabaon na lang sa lupa ang nararamdaman ko.

I sighed. "I really don't know what to do." Pag-amin ko.

Tinukod niya ang siko niya sa lamesa at nagtaas-baba ang kilay niya.

Napaikot ako ng mata. Hell, I know what that means.

"No, i'm not going to ask." Sabi ko.

Sumimangot naman siya. "Come on, i'm your love guru. You can ask anything to me and I'll give you an advice. Many advices." Sabi niya.

Umiling lang ako at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain ko.

"How about you confess to him on your birthday? It can be a wonderful gift for the both of you." She said.

Tinignan ko lang siya at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain ko. That advice is good, but i'll think about it.

"So?" Aira asked if I would do her advice.

I just shrugged that made her pout.

Nang matapos kaming kumain ay bumalik kami sa dorm. We saw the other Royalties working and practicing. It is now our daily routine, part of our preparation.

This days, parati na kaming nagpapractice para makapagprepare kung may mangyayari man. So that when time comes, hindi na kami magpanic.

Panic makes everything worse than the normal. Kapag ready ka, you will know what to do and won't panic.

Isa narin ito sa recommendation ng Academy, kaya sinusunod namin. It could help us though.

Nakakabagot rin ang tumihaya lang at walang ginagawa. It's better to do something than to do nothing.

Dumiretso ako sa kwarto ko. Maybe I should rest for awhile, when I wake up, I will train whole day.

Humiga ako sa kama, at tumingin sa kisame. Malapit ng mangyari ang kinatatakutan namin.
