"Seriously, Kate! He's 22. Why couldn't you find someone your own age."
Kate rolls her eyes at you.
"(y/n), it's my life. This doesn't concern you. Why are you so pressed about the fact that he's 22."
"Because he's my age! It weirds me out! Like you could've started dating one of my friends and that freaks me out."
"Get over it, (y/n). The world doesn't revolve you. If I want to date a 22 year old then I'll date a 22 year old."
Kate motions for the waitress to bring 2 shots for the both of you.
"Here. This will help you get over it. Maybe the two of you can hang out."
You grab both shot glasses and finish them in one sip, making Kate let out a whistle over how quick you ended up drinking them.
"You could've said no. If you don't like the fact that he's 20 years younger than me, then you can fuck off. I don't need your permission as to who I can and can't date."
She finishes both shots and stands up to grab her boyfriend from the bar.
"Fuck you, (y/n). I don't need your approval."
Kate makes her way over to the bar and takes her boyfriends hand to lead them out of the club.
"I'm leaving you with the tab as another fuck you."
You groaned loudly as you realized that you were barely going to be able to cover the tab. You should've just kept your mouth shut. Now you were going to apologize.

Kate opened the door to find you on the other side and moved to close it, only for you to stick your foot out to stop her from slamming it in your face.
"I came here bearing gifts."
You tell her as you hold up her favorite beer.
"Fine, come in."
She takes the beer from you and leads you to the kitchen where the two of you can talk.
"What do you want, (y/n)? Here to tell me again that you think it's weird that I'm dating someone your age."
"No, I just came here to apologize. I was being stupid."
"Hell yeah, you were"
You roll your eyes at her, amused that she had just agreed.
"I should've never opened my mouth. What you do with your life is your own thing. My opinion doesn't matter."
"That tab almost bankrupted you, didn't it?"
"Okay, yeah but it was still wrong of me. I'm sorry for upsetting you."
"All is forgiven, just never mentioned anything about my boyfriends age and we're all good."
"Deal."
"Good, now come on. The game is on and I can't watch it without you."

Kate looked between the two of you as both of you took a seat in the booth she was in. Kate had invited you for dinner as the two of you were still repairing your friendship and it made her suspicious that you had decided to invite this random woman out of nowhere.
"(y/n), who is this?"
"Kate, this is (fake name). She's the woman I was talking to you about. I hope it's okay that I brought her over."
"...it's fine. Lets just order.'
The three of you order your meals and as the food is brought out Kate starts asking the woman all kinds of questions about the two of you.
"Kate, stop it. I didn't ask your boyfriend all these kinds of questions. It's not fair that you only ask them to my girlfriend."
"(y/n), you can't really think that I would believe she's your girlfriend."
"And why is that? I told you that we've been dating for a few weeks now."
"Because she's.."
"Because she's what?"
You ask her with a grin, Kate glared at you and shook her head.

After that, dinner was eaten quietly. The woman you had hired to pretend to be your girlfriend, let for the bathroom and so that's when Kate continued to tell you.
"because she's my age, (y/n). You're doing this because of (her boyfriend name)."
"I have no idea what you're talking about. It's just a coincidence that she happens to be the same age as you."

"Is everything okay?"
