You kept staring at the bright red numbers on your members, praying that you the teacher had mixed the numbers. There was no way that you would've gotten a 38 after studying every night for the past week.
"...(y/n)? How did your finals go?"
Hearing Lena's voice, you snap out of your trance. You must've gotten lost in your own mind when you realized just how terrible you had done.
"Great." You said though gritted teeth. "It looks like I'll be coming home soon."
It was the truth. Whether you passed or failed, you were still going to go home. You were initially supposed to graduate during the semester but you barely had enough credits to be done halfway with your major. You didn't have the heart to tell Lena that you've been dropping classes left and right because you couldn't deal with the stress. You simply stayed quiet about it and focused on what you loved. The art that you spent countless of hours perfecting.
You've been trying to work up the courage to let your sister know that your heart wasn't in the career path as her and your family but you couldn't. Lena would always sound so excited when she talked about being able to work together and creating new inventions to help the world.
"Wait, what about your graduation? When is it?"
Like everything else, you lied.
"I still have one more class to take so I'll be graduating next semester."
"No matter. At least your work load won't be too heavy and we can start discussing your position at the company."
"I can't wait."

You've only been in National City for a day and you were already exhausted. Lena had picked you up from the airport and wouldn't stop talking about the new projects L-Corp was working on that you could join in. She also talked about how she was making space so your office would be next to her. Her excitement was exhausting and it kept reminding you of the lies you've been telling her. You had hoped that she wouldn't bring anything up about your career but it's all she seemed to talk about.
"I know! What if I show you the progress of your office? It'll be a good idea to get your input.....Steven can you...."
You pulled her back to take seat before she could change the direction.
"Would it be alright if we just go home? I'm a bit tired. I'm not used to the time difference."
You feel bad when you see her disappointment. You really needed to tell her the truth. It was only for a brief second but you could tell.
"Of course! I need to finish some last minute paperwork so we can have the week to ourselves."

Lena thankfully dropped you off at her apartment. Alone, you attempted to search her alcohol with no luck. She must've stopped drinking for her to not have anything. You remembered how she always had her stash stacked. With no other choice, you decided to go out. The sun was barely setting but you were sure you could find a place that served alcohol.
