You had trouble sleeping ever since what happened in the trailer. You hid it from Katie as much as you could but she was already starting to notice things. Your lack of sleep made you distracted and there were times that you would often fall asleep in random places. Your eye bags kept getting darker that your makeup wasn't able to hide it any longer.
"You'll tell me if something is wrong, right (y/n)"
"Yes, Katie. I would tell you if something is wrong but I'm fine. There's nothing for you to worry about. The asshole is in jail so I'm not worried about anything."
Katie sighs, not believing you. She hated how you kept things to yourself but there was nothing she could do if you didn't tell her anything. All she could do was keep an eye on you.

Back home in Ireland, it was going to be impossible to hide it from Katie. You had forgotten that your mom had turned Katie's room into an office so the two of you were forced to share your room. You wouldn't have normally minded but she was going to notice that you weren't getting any sleep.
"Goodnight, (y/n). I can't wait for tomorrow. Mom was able to get reservations at our favorite restaurant."
"She didn't tell me."
Katie laughs and made herself more comfortable as she settled down on the bed.
"She told me to keep it from you. Said that it was going to be a surprise but I just couldn't help myself now shh. We've both had a long flight."
"Goodnight, Katie."
You closed your eyes and forced yourself to get some sleep but it was nearly impossible. After spending god knows how long, you opened your eyes again to find that you've only been trying to sleep for 10 minutes. With sigh, you just stare at the ceiling in hopes that your boredom would make you fall sleep.

Katie was abruptly woken up by a kick. She planned to kick you back but stopped when she noticed how distressed you were. It had been so long since you had a nightmare. Knowing how violent you could get during a nightmare, Katie climbed off of the bed and attempted to wake you up.
"(y/n), wake up. It's just a nightmare. Come on, come back to me. It's just a nightmare." She didn't want to shake you awake but there was no other choice. "(y/n), it's me Katie. Wake up. You're having a nightmare."
You finally wake up to find yourself covered in sweat and Katie looking at you with worried expression.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"
"Don't apologize." She takes a seat beside you, pulling you into an embrace as she rubbed her hand, up and down your back to comfort you. "Are you okay? What was the nightmare about?"
You sink further into her embrace. She always gave the best hugs.
"It was about your ex. I dreamt that you hadn't come in and he had started hurting me."
Katie hugs you tighter as you tell her your nightmare.
"I'm so sorry, (y/n). This is all my fault. I should've noticed the signs but I didn't."
"It's okay, Katie. He's in jail now. He won't bother us again."
With you in her arms, she falls back on the bed, refusing to let you go.
"You should've told me that you were having nightmare, (y/n)."
"I...I didn't know that I would have any. I haven't been sleeping very much."
Katie wanted to get after you but she knew that it wasn't going to help.
"At least, you're telling me now. Now close your eyes and try to get some sleep. I'll wake you up if you start having a nightmare."
"Thanks, Katie."
Katie had always been a light sleeper so she had fallen asleep too.

Come morning, you had managed to actually sleep well throughout the night.
