Lionel knew that Lillian wasn't going to be happy about you but at the moment, he didn't care. His best friend and wife had just died and left a child behind. Lionel had promised to take care of you so when his friend's lawyer showed up to tell him about the news, Lionel didn't hesitate to take the LuthorCorp helicopter to rush to the hospital to be with you.
"Lena, honey. You're just who I wanted to see. This is (y/n). (y/n), this is Lena. She's my daughter."
You give her a shy wave as she smiles and takes you hand.
"She'll be staying with us from now on."
Lena didn't ask questions, simply just led you upstairs to her room where the two of you spent the afternoon playing with some of Lena's old toys while Lionel and Lillian yelled at each other downstairs. You were still young but still capable to understand what people were saying so Lena tried her best to distract you from the yelling that had started the moment Lillian arrived.

Lena had become your best friend since the moment you arrived. She treated you like the sister you never had and you honestly loved her. The two of you had a 5 year age difference but that didn't stop Lena from hanging out with an 8 year old. All she cared was that you knew that you had someone that loved you. Lionel would show it whenever he was around but he was always busy traveling between cities for his business. Lillian and Lex hated you with every fiber in their body. They didn't show it when Lena was around for some reason but when you were alone, they mistreated you. At first mentally, telling you that you weren't loved and that you were good for nothing but then it just escalated to a physical level when Lillian threw a vase at you and ended up hitting you with it. When Lena asked what happened, you just simply lied and told her that you had tripped. Lena was none the wiser and simply just helped you clean it up when she arrived.

Things took a turn for the worse when Lionel died. Lena became distant and you couldn't blame her. Her father had just died and although she tried to be there for you, she just couldn't. Lena had her own problems to deal with and you didn't want to add more to her plate. Lillian would constantly tell you that Lena just felt bad for you and after hearing it for so long, you believed it. The only reason why Lena had even spent time with you was because she felt pity for you.
